Omega Diagnostics Group PLC - London-focused medical diagnostics firm - Notes announcement from UK Rapid Test Consortium over plans to develop Covid-19 antibody tests. Says leader of consortium, Abingdon Health Ltd has attained design freeze for testing kit. and adds that Abingdon must next transfer manufacturing protocols to other consortium members. Omega says transfer of manufacturing process will allow it to undertake more validation work. Omega plans to produce 100,000 tests per week initially before doubling output by end of September.
