NEW YORK, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Group Three cash gasolinetraded at 1 cent over front-month September U.S. RBOB gasoline futures on Monday, a 6-cent stronger differential to thebenchmark as traders and brokers reacted to news of crudedistillation unit (CDU) repairs at BP Plc's413,500-barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in Whiting, Indiana.
Group Three gasoline was valued at 5.00 cents under thebenchmark late on Friday.
The 240,000-bpd CDU known as Pipestill 12 was shut by amalfunction on Saturday, sources familiar with plan operationssaid, confirming a report by energy industry intelligenceservice Genscape.
In addition to Group Three, gasoline in the neighboring cashproducts market in Chicago also strengthened, with bids heard at3.00 cents above futures, after it was valued late-Friday at2.50 cents below the benchmark. (Reporting by Robert Gibbons Editing by W Simon)
