Botswana Diamonds to drill more holes at Thorny River

Thu, 15th Apr 2021 11:06

(Sharecast News) - Botswana Diamonds announced on Thursday that a further drilling programme on its Thorny River diamond prospect in South Africa's Limpopo province would begin on 19 April.
The AIM-traded firm said that following the discovery of the River kimberlite pipe, including 11 diamonds, it had upgraded the potential of the property.

"An area with a similar geological and geophysical footprint immediately to the east of the River Pipe was identified," the board said in its statement.

"Analysis suggests potential for a larger kimberlite body than already identified."

It explained that, following completion of earth works, a six-hole reverse circulation programme would start on 19 April.

"The programme is expected to take two weeks, with the results announced shortly thereafter."

At 1045 BST, shares in Botswana Diamonds were up 3.03% at 0.85p.
