AFC Energy up on extended collaboration with Extreme E racing series

Wed, 02nd Feb 2022 10:18

(Alliance News) - AFC Energy PLC said on Wednesday that Extreme E, the all-electric off-road SUV racing series, will continue to use the company's zero-emission fuel cell for its 2022 season.

Shares in AFC Energy were up 11% at 37.70 pence on Wednesday morning in London.

The new contract, signed yesterday, will see the company's fuel cell system being rented to Extreme E again on commercial terms and used to generate power for all of the race vehicles at each of the five rounds in the 2022 season.

The Surrey, England-based hydrogen power generation technology company explained that its L series hydrogen power generator was previously used at all five races in the inaugural Extreme E 2021 season.
