Utilitywise Eyes English Commercial Water Market With Partnership

Tue, 13th Dec 2016 08:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - Utilitywise PLC on Tuesday said it has partnered up with the UK's third largest water supplier to the non-domestic market to provide gas and electricity procurement services to its customers.

The London-listed utility cost management consultancy firm has teamed up with water supplier and wastewater service provider Business Stream, which is in the process of acquiring Southern Water's non-domestic business.

Utilitywise said, once that acquisition is completed in April 2017, Business Stream will have around 190,000 customers on its books.

Under the terms of the partnership, Utilitywise will offer gas and electricity procurement services and technology to Business Stream's customer base through a joint marketing programme, initially in Scotland and additionally in England once that acquisition is completed.

The partnership is part of Utilitywise's wider strategy to capitalise on the customer engagement and revenue opportunities presented by the deregulation of the English commercial water market in April 2017.

"This partnership will provide Business Stream customers with access to competitive energy prices as well as cutting edge technologies and services to help them reduce utility consumption and save even more money on their electricity, gas and water bills," said Chief Executive Brian Flattery.

Utilitywise shares were down 0.5% to 190.0 pence per share on Tuesday morning.
