It means a lot in terms of stabilisation if they can reopen and get some money coming through the tills. The AMC CEO recently mentioned on their earnings call that at 25% attendance, their theatres are cash positive and therefore better off open.
At present, Cineworld has significant debt obligations and whilst their cinemas are shut, they are effectively making a loss and burning cash. If they reopen and become cash positive, this will no longer be the case. If doesn't matter if they are immediately back at pre covid levels of attendance or not in the short term, they just need to be cash positive to assure the company's survival. Inevitably, if the company survives, attendance levels will return and the share price will rise accordingly.
The reopening of their cinemas doesn’t mean much really until they can fill capacity. I had no impact of William Hills when they reopened betting stores
Tempting but risky jumping in and out at the moment. Jump out at the wrong time and you can risk missing another big rise. US Cinemas, which account for around 75% of Cineworld's estate are preparing to reopen. The arrival of the first blockbuster, Tenet, is also due towards the end of the month. Quite a bit of potentially good news in the pipeline.
I'm staying in. I've just realised that with the amount of shares I've accumulated, if the company returns to pre covid profits again in a couple of years time, I could be looking at a £10K to £20K per year dividend based on the recent dividend history. Happy days.
While the sentiment is with us the shorters can sell at a loss and others will hoover them up compounding shorter woes when they can't buy back in.
There has not really been any fixed pattern the last few days so hard to call. I sold after lunch again but I might end up buying in higher, who knows? But I won’t be on here bashing it whilst I’m out. It’s going North imo
Who believes on another sell off tomorrow morning from short traders?
I got in at 48 and really dont have a clue what to do! Feels silly to miss those 10% waves! Your thoughts?
