IMAX wouldn’t be opening 90% of it’s screens if it didn’t think global Cinema continued to have a lucrative future.
"IMAX plans to reopen around 90% of its 1400 screens worldwide by the end of August, keeping the company in line with the relaunch of the AMC and Regal chains late next month as well. Nolan reportedly wants as many viewers as possible to see his 11th feature film on the giant-sized IMAX screens. Gelfond noted on the conference call that Nolan’s movies often overperform on IMAX."
You CANNOT replicate IMAX at home unless you're willing to spend a small fortune.

The bottom has been tested for Cineworld and there is only one way this is heading now.
Investors are seeing real value in Cineworld’s current share price and can look forward to some big gains with a little patience.
US re-open with 73% of Cineworl's income is set to OPEN in 11 days.
The question an investor needs to ask themselves is, do I want to sell my £150p+ share for 40p (75% less its long term value)?
Morning DHC, scare tactics have been exhausted now.
The fundamentals are quickly resurfacing and they are demonstrating that Cineworld have been OVERSOLD.
Even the current price of 42p is just 25% of pre-March levels.
Lest we forget that Cineworld, when they resume their dividend, were paying 12p per share. Granted the dividend is suspended, when it is resumed, and the share price naturally recovers to 150p, beyond the 3-4x bagger recovery, investors have an opportunity to acquire a fantastic share which would return a yield of close to 30% (when the dividend is recovered and we see the SP back to 150p).
Cineworld as part of a balanced portfolio is a savvy buy for the smart investor.
Great Post DHC...
Nice!
Burn baby burn - glad it's not my toast though
Capital funds with short positions rely on their associates/juniors to report back private investor sentiment.
If they have not advised their funds to close their shorts, they are set for some big losses.
As we approach the 21st August, just 11 days, we will see this share price recover significantly.
Did speak too soon?? Here they come .... return of the CLOWNS!! These guys live on another planet - Comical... haha!
WERE ONLY JUST GETTING STARTED - LOOK AT THE PAST HISTORY OF CINE BULL RUNS SINCE COVID... SIGNIFICANT INCREASES DAILY, WE’VE HIT £1.00 ‘TWICE’... NO REASON THAT A THIRD TIME SHOULDN'T BE ON THE CARDS... SOONER THAN YOU THINK!!
I think he made a typo.
There was nothing to substantiate the massive red days we saw in the last two weeks. This is just evening itself out.
Thats what he meant.
"There is nothing to substantiate the rise" said one commentator.
A very ill-informed individual who would do best to continue investing in hydrocarbons.
That's bounceability for you !!
1. Cinemas operate a profit at as little as 20% capacity and are on course to open all their territories before the close of this month.
2. Face masks worn is encouraging as it promotes the government's message and mitigates the risk of further closure.
In line with government guidelines, all customers will be required to wear face coverings whilst visiting our cinemas from Saturday August 8. They can however be REMOVED to consume food and drink (a great upsale for concession sales, you will agree). 3. Schools re-open next month September, millions of children sitting for 6 hours+, side by side, no distance and frequent touch points vs cinema viewing in staggered, static seating with frequent cleaning and controls is a lot safer.
4. Debt may be B grade but that is it - it's debt. Investors aren't trading debt securities so the grade B (like Rolls Royce btw) has a default risk of 4-6%, so 94-96% positive outlook for their debt, again from a private investor who is trading equities securities by way of stock purchase is not phased by this.
Cineworld will PASS their debt convenant test this December with ample room to spare.
5. Shorts are nothing new, in Jan 2020 this year shorts were 14% and share price was 164p (4 x the current SP).
6. Tenet the BIG Blockbuster of 2020 is to screen in ~2 weeks
7. Cineworld US (73% of their estate) is to open in ~2 weeks and will ACTIVATE 300,000+ subscriptions, each paying upwards of $23/month
We have witness Cineworld ride the train all the way back up within FOUR (4) trading days:
22 May 2020 = 58p
26 May 2020 = 69p
27 May 2020 = 77p
28 May 2020 = 102p intra-day high
Good luck, all and DYOR.
