I missed the recent “trading update” as this is one of my “sit there and wait” shares. However the market seems to have approved.

"The leading supplier of public transport CCTV 21st Century (C21) announced its results for the six months to 30th June 2009. Group revenue from continuing operations increased by 17% to 7 million pounds, while profit before tax was 0.28 million pounds compared to a loss of 0.03 million a year earlier. Peter Ward, Chairman of 21st Century, said: "It is very pleasing to hit our full year City profit expectation in the first six months and we are looking forward to building on this success in the second half of the year. So far in this second half, we have won a significant new contract with Go-Ahead Group and we are moving forward with justified confidence." Public transport monitoring systems sales increased by 58% to 5.3 million pounds and the group's flagship product EcoManager, which was launched in June 2008, delivered sales of 2.4 million pounds. The group has also been awarded a new three year contract to supply Go-Ahead group. The board also stated that CCTV sales in Europe are picking up. Shares in the company climbed by 0.25p to 8.375p."

Thanks for that. Yes, a pretty good set of results. I wouldn’t expect fireworks, but hopefully a slow and steady climb.

...always the best way :)
.. a little :)
Just in from work, thanks for reply. Thanks to today i now hold under current price (been in portfolio for 4- 6 weeks, in at 7p on last rise) I did read your post regarding the car entertainment/cctv move, and bought in as i work for a company which sells and installs car entertainment, the cctv aspect is huge and as you say is one of the few true growth markets, retailers are now installing them on delivery trucks and more and more in stores(systems upgrades, need more sophisticated technology). Also i work a few minutes from there base (lily pond) and sadly enough this was a reason for buying, sometimes it's nice to be involved in something local that you can actually see. For me i'm happy to sit for a long time, not in for a huge amount have 20,000 but truly believe that it's a sound long termer and today has perhaps validated my judgement atb lostalot
...here guys, ATB

I think you are getting well ahead of yourself here - at best the price will peak at 10p/12p . I'll wait to buy at a better price possibly around the 5p/6p mark. DYOR
I’ve had these in one of my portfolios for ages - in fact, I’d almost forgotten about them, until this recent upsurge of interest – I hold 60K bought at a higher price than they are now! I posted a while back that they made the correct decision moving away from car entertainment into CCTV surveillance etc. [although, I fight “tooth and nail” 1984 Big brother stuff!!]. It is a sad reflection on our society, however I do see this as one of the very few growth sectors going forward for the foreseeable future. ATB
believe the agm is september, very few shares around so the only problem i find with these is selling or buying in any quantity, it dropped off a while ago looked to get some more but wasn't worth it as only £200 trades. Pleased they've got the contract and should see this stay here for the next step with any luck.....
But I think that things are slowly turning around. There was another flurry a month or so, back.
bought these a while back, nice to see them rise
:)
Their expansion plans re: CCTV continue to roll out.
