At 11:00 AM, the FTSE 100 Index was up by 22.48 at 6907.8 points, a movement of 0.33%, showing a slight rise in the market.
Land Securities (LAND) was a heavily traded share, with around £1,468.9m (0.276%) worth of shares being traded.
Overall, 55% of the companies in the FTSE 100 Index were up, and 42% were down; giving a positive view of the day so far.
Some of the top risers include Johnson Matthey (JMAT) which rose 3.16%, Aveva Group (AVV) rising 3.03% and Astrazeneca (AZN) which increased 2.75%. The majority of gaining shares came from the Media, Support and Retailers sector(s).

The shares that went down included Aviva (AV.) which fell -3.69%, Smurfit Kappa (SKG) losing -3.04% and Smith (DS) (SMDS) which dropped -2.19%. Most of these dropping shares came from the Insurance, Tourism and Leisure and Household Utilities sector(s).
