DIRECTORS'/PDMR INTERESTS IN SHARES

1. On 2 July 2009, a company within the Harris Ventures Group sold 70,000 Carpetright shares at a price of 566.5p. On the same day, a Harris family member purchased 70,000 Carpetright shares also at a price of 566.5p.

2. The beneficial shareholding for Lord Harris is now 12,579,361 shares (18.7%). Overall, the Harris family interests remain unchanged.

3. The Company has also received notice from Lord Harris and from Mr M Harris that, as at 2 July 2009, the number of shares over which security has been granted by the Harris Ventures Group (as announced on 23 January 2009) has further reduced to 10,679,970.
