Director's external appointment

In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.14(1), Petrofac Limited (the "Company") reports that Mr Bernard de Combret, a non-executive director of the Company, was appointed non-executive chairman of Coastal Energy Company on 19 December 2008. Coastal Energy Company is an independent exploration and production company and is listed on the AIM and Toronto TSX-V exchanges. Mr de Combret has served as a director of Coastal Energy since September 2006.
