Alphameric PLC14 August 2006 For immediate release 14 August 2006 Alphameric plc ("Alphameric" or the "Company") The board of Alphameric notes the statement made this morning by Torex Retailplc in their interim results for the period ended 30 June 2006. The Company can confirm that the Alphameric group is claiming additionalconsideration of £15 million from Torex Retail plc (of which £2 million has beenreceived) under the terms of the agreement entered into on 12 November 2004 forthe sale and purchase of the entire issued share capital of Pennine RetailSystems (Holdings) Limited (the "Agreement"). Discussions are continuingbetween the parties in connection with the level of additional consideration andits determination by an independent accountant in accordance with the terms ofthe Agreement.
