Major European Transport Infrastructure Contract Win

Further to its announcement released earlier today, Synectics plc (AIM: SNX), a leader in the design, integration, control and management of advanced surveillance technology and networked security systems, announces that it has been awarded a multi-million euro contract to enable smart, centralised management of network-wide safety, service and security processes for S-Bahn Berlin GmbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG, which is responsible for delivering and modernising rail provision in Berlin.

Development and delivery of the solution will take place over the next two years and the contract also includes an eight-year support agreement as part of a long-term partnership.

The solution, built around an enhanced version of Synectics' Synergy 3 command and control software platform, will incorporate features and functionality currently under development for the next generation of Synectics' software suite.

Spanning trains, track and stations - the system will allow operators based at a new security and service facility to process real-time data from integrated systems critical to passenger protection and satisfaction. This will ensure staff can react rapidly to events to deliver the best possible passenger experience, partially automating key data processing, incident responses and reporting.
