S&P Global Ratings Gazprom rating upgrade
On 27 February 2018, S&P Global Ratings announced that it has raised by one notch Gazprom's foreign currency rating from BB+ (positive outlook) to BBB- (stable outlook). The rating action followed an upgrade of Russia's sovereign credit ratings to BBB- (stable outlook) on 23 February 2018.
This upgrade continued the sequence of positive rating actions by leading international agencies, such as Fitch Ratings and Moody's Investors Service, and Russia-based Analytical Credit Rating Agency (ACRA).
On 28 September 2017, Fitch Ratings affirmed its long-term foreign currency rating for Gazprom at BBB-, with the outlook changed from stable to positive, after a similar rating action for the Russian Federation.
On 29 January 2018, Moody's Investors Service upgraded its long-term foreign currency rating for Gazprom from Ва1/Stable outlook to Baa3/Positive outlook, one notch above Russia's current sovereign rating (Ba1/Positive outlook).
On 2 February 2018, ACRA assigned an AAA(RU) rating (stable outlook) to Gazprom.
Following the upgrade by S&P, Gazprom's ratings from the Top-3 international rating agencies are all investment grade.
