Modern Water sells brine concentration plant to leading global producer of industrial chemicals

Modern Water plc, the owner of world-leading technologies for water and wastewater treatment and for water quality monitoring, is pleased to announce that it received a purchase order to supply a proprietary all-membrane brine concentration plant ("AMBC") to one of the world's leading producers of crop protection products, speciality chemicals and other industrial chemicals.
The end client is a substantial international chemicals company that operates in every continent with offices in over 20 countries and customers in 130+ countries. The sale follows successful trials of Modern Water's AMBC by the company at a site in India. The client has over 30 manufacturing sites in countries including the UK, India, France, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Argentina, China and Vietnam and operates each site to strict international quality standards.
Modern Water's AMBC plant will treat technically challenging waste water and is a crucial part of an energy-efficient treatment process for a highly saline organic-laden effluent stream. The plant will form part of a process that achieves zero liquid discharge ("ZLD"), meaning that all waste water is purified and recycled at the end of the treatment cycle, leaving only a small amount of concentrated dry solids. Modern Water's AMBC process significantly reduces the cost of ZLD plants. The AMBC process is based on the Company's proprietary forward osmosis and related processes.
The project will be undertaken by Modern Water in conjunction with its partner in India, Advent Envirocare Technology Pvt Ltd ("Advent"), one of India's leading companies focused on the technically challenging industrial wastewater market. In addition to licensing and designing the AMBC plant, Modern Water will also provide specialist equipment, supervise process commissioning of the plant and train the end customer's operations staff, while Advent will undertake project engineering, procurement, supply and installation of the system.
