Independent News & Media PLC01 November 2007 Independent News & Media ("The Company") (Ticker INWS.I; INWS.L) TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS In conformity with Regulation 20 of the Transparency (Directive 2004/109/EC),the Company announces that as of 31st October, 2007: The Company's issued share capital consists of 777,422,717 Ordinary Shares ofnominal value €0.30 each of which the Company holds 36,620,363 Ordinary Sharesin treasury, which do not carry voting rights. Therefore, the total number ofshares with voting rights is 740,802,354. The above figure may be used by shareholders as a denominator for thecalculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify theirinterest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under theTransparency (Directive 2004/109/EC) Regulations 2007 and the InterimTransparency Rules of the Financial Regulator.
