INM Announces Directorate Changes

Dublin/London - 14 June 2012: Independent News & Media PLC ("INM" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Allan Marshall to the Board of Independent News & Media PLC as a non-executive Director with immediate effect.

Allan Marshall is a graduate of the Harvard Business School's Program for Management Development. He began his career in newspaper publishing in 1971 at a regional newspaper in Australia. In his early years he won several journalism awards, including the Alan Cane award for cadet journalists. In the mid 1980s he moved into editorial management and was a senior editor at The West Australian Newspaper.

In 1987 he moved to Associated Newspapers Ltd to join the Evening Standard in London. In 1994 he was appointed a Director of Associated Newspapers Ltd and was later appointed Chief Operations & Technology Director.

While at Associated Newspapers Ltd, he helped position the organisation as a global market leader within the newspaper publishing sector through his dynamic vision for the future, a proactive approach to implementing change and a commitment to developing industry standards.

He is a founder of iMedia, a leading international advisory service to the publishing industry.

Allan is currently heading up the Telegraph Media Group technology transformation.
