Holidaybreak, the education, leisure and activity travel group, today announces the appointment of Martin Davies as Group Chief Executive with effect from 19 April. Following Martin's appointment, John Coleman will revert to the role of non-executive Chairman.
Martin, 49, is currently Managing Director of Holidaybreak's Education Division, which accounted for approximately 26% of the Group's revenue in 2009. He joined PGL, the market leader in the residential, outdoor education and adventure sector for UK primary schools, as Chief Executive in 2004 and went on to lead the MBO in 2005. He subsequently led the sale of PGL to Holidaybreak in June 2007, following which he was appointed Managing Director of the Education Division and became a member of the plc Board. Since then, the Education Division has grown both organically and with the acquisitions of NST and EST, and PGL has purchased two new outdoor education centres at Windmill Hill and Liddington, which opens tomorrow.Martin will also remain Managing Director of the Education Division.
John Coleman, Executive Chairman said:
