Litigation Update

Further to the favourable decision of the English Commercial Court to award costs to Gulf Keystone and two of its subsidiaries (the "Companies"), as announced by the Company on 28 June 2011, an interim payment of £250,000 has been made by Excalibur Ventures LLC ("Excalibur") to the Companies.

The Companies continue vigorously to dispute and contest the allegations and claims asserted by Excalibur.

The Board of Gulf Keystone will provide further updates in due course.

John Gerstenlauer, the Company's Chief Operating Officer, who has 31 years of relevant experience within the sector and meets the criteria of a qualified person under the AIM note for mining, oil and gas companies, has reviewed and approved the technical information contained in this announcement.
