Interim Management Statement

Filtronic, the designer and manufacturer of microwave electronics products for the wireless telecoms infrastructure market, issues its Interim Management Statement for the period from 1 June 2011, ahead of today's AGM.

Trading in the first quarter has been in line with management's expectations.

Actions taken during the last financial year to reduce costs and improve gross margins are taking effect.

At the end of August 2011 the group had £4.0m of cash, a reduction of £0.1m from the year-end position.

There have been no other significant changes in the position of the company over the period since the publication of its annual report for the year ended 31 May 2011.

The half year results for the six months ending 30 November 2011 will be announced in January 2012.
