Interim Management Statement

Filtronic, the designer and manufacturer of microwave electronics products for the wireless telecoms infrastructure market, issues its Interim Management Statement for the period from 1 June 2012, ahead of today's AGM.

Trading in the first quarter at a group level has been in line with expectations.

The Wireless business has continued to deliver growth in both existing and new customer sales and is slightly ahead of expectations. Whilst OEM demand for the US market is strong, the business is also receiving significant enquiries from European and US Operators which will drive further growth.

As previously announced, the Broadband business is experiencing a decline in its traditional radio module business which is expected to be partially offset in the next 12 months by its increasing revenues in E-band and aerospace. Although prospects for these new growth businesses continue to develop encouragingly, a slower than planned increase in initial volumes leaves the Broadband business slightly behind expectations.

At the end of August 2012 the Group had maintained its year-end cash position of £3.7m.

There have been no other significant changes in the position of the company over the period since the publication of its annual report for the year ended 31 May 2012.

The half year results for the six months ending 30 November 2012 will be announced in January 2013.
