Equiniti recovers £1bn of lost investments
Equiniti Group plc ("Equiniti"), the FTSE-listed share services and fintech business, is delighted to announce that through its specialist asset re-unification business, ProSearch, it has reunited investors with over £1 billion of unclaimed assets.
Around 900,000 investors have benefited from Equiniti's work, reclaiming investments with an average value of over £1,000. Although in some cases the amount reclaimed is much higher, with the largest find valued at more than £600,000 and some unclaimed portfolios valued in the millions.
There are a number of reasons cash and share entitlements may not have been claimed, such as a shareholder failing to notify a share registrar of a change of address; or beneficiaries or executors of an estate not being aware of the holding.
Equiniti is trusted by many of the UK's best known companies including Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays, Santander and Royal Dutch Shell, to operate asset reunification programmes on their behalf.
Duncan Stevens, Managing Director at ProSearch, is delighted to share the good news: "We work with share registrars, banks and building societies to reunite investors and shareholders with their unclaimed assets.
