Board Appointment
Dignity plc, the UK's only listed provider of funeral related services, is delighted to announce the appointment of John Castagno to the Board as independent Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 23 July 2021.
John is an experienced Non-Executive Director with extensive experience in support industries and the financial services sector. John is skilled in both business planning and business development. He is currently an independent Non-Executive Director of Post Office Insurance. John is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
John will initially serve on the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
Gary Channon, Chief Executive, commented:
"I am delighted that John has joined the Board of Dignity plc. His significant financial and commercial experience will be invaluable as the Company's independent Non-Executive Chairman. I very much look forward to working with him in my new role as CEO, both on the future success of the business and further appointments to the Board.
I am also pleased to announce that Dean Moore will remain a Director of the Company.
As previously announced, with John's appointment, I will now stand down as Executive Chairman to become CEO."
John Castagno added:

At the date of this announcement, Mr. Castagno has no interest in the ordinary shares in Dignity plc.
