Elektron PLC21 February 2006 For immediate release 21 February 2006 Elektron Plc ("Elektron" or the "Company") Elektron, the AIM quoted components group, announces that the Company may,pursuant to the authority granted at its Annual General Meeting held on 28 July2005, purchase its own shares on market in relation to the followingtransaction: Family and associated holdings of the late Mr JAD Skailes, a former director ofthe Company, have indicated that they wish to sell 2,215,000 ordinary shares,which represents 2.8 per cent. of the current issued share capital of theCompany. In order to maintain an orderly market in the Company's shares theBoard of Directors has confirmed that it is prepared to purchase these shares,in an on-market transaction, to the extent that other purchasers have not doneso within five business days of the date hereof, at the mid market priceprevailing at the close of business on the day preceding this announcement,which amounted to 13.5 p per share. Details of the number of shares purchased will be announced after completion ofthe transaction.
