Board Appointments
Clarkson PLC, the world's leading integrated shipping services group, is pleased to announce the appointment ofΒ James Morley as aΒ Non Executive Director.Β Β HeΒ will join the Board with immediate effectΒ and take over the Chairmanship of the Audit Committee.
Mr. Morley is a chartered accountant with over 30 years of experience as an executive Board member atΒ both listed and private companies, primarily in the insurance sector. Most recently, Mr. Morley was Chief Operating Officer ofΒ Primary Insurance GroupΒ (2006 -Β 2007). Prior to this,Β he was Group Finance DirectorΒ at Cox Insurance Holdings (2002 -Β 2005), Group Financing Director at Arjo Wiggins Appleton plcΒ (1999 -Β 2001) and Group Executive Director (Finance) at Guardian Royal Exchange (1990 -Β 1999).Β Β Mr. Morley started his career at Arthur Andersen & Co and was bothΒ Deputy Chief Executive and Group Finance Director at AVIS Europe plc, where he workedΒ from 1976 to 1989.
Mr. MorleyΒ currently holds Non Executive Directorships at Costain Group plc, The Innovation Group plc and WS Atkins plc. In the past five years, Mr. MorleyΒ was Group Finance Director at Cox Insurance Holdings Plc (2002 - 2005) andΒ held aΒ Non Executive DirectorshipΒ atΒ The Bankers Investment TrustΒ PLCΒ (1994 -Β February 2008). ClarksonsΒ confirm that there are no other disclosures to be made in respect ofΒ Mr.Β Morley, pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
The responsibilities of Clarkson's other Non Executive Directors are also changed as follows, with immediate effect: Paul Wogan will become Senior Independent Director and Ed Warner will take over Chairmanship of the Remuneration Committee.
