AGM STATEMENT
Colefax will be holding its Annual General Meeting at 11am this morning and Chairman,Β David Green,Β willΒ make the following comment on current trading,
"The Group has justΒ enteredΒ its important autumn trading period.Β As reported in our final results in July,Β trading conditions are still extremely challengingΒ in all our major markets. InΒ theΒ US,Β which isΒ our most importantΒ market,Β representing approximately 50% of our Fabric Division,Β sales for the four months to 31Β August 2009Β areΒ down by 32%Β on a constant currency basis.Β In theΒ UK,Β sales for the four months to 31Β August areΒ down by 18%. InΒ Europe,Β sales for the four months to 31 August are down by 10% andΒ byΒ 18%Β on a constant currency basis.Β We anticipate that trading conditions will remain very challenging forΒ at least the remainder of the current financialΒ year."
