ANGELA KNIGHT APPOINTED AS INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Arbuthnot Banking Group PLC, today announced the appointment of Angela Knight, CBE to the Board of Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited, its wholly owned private and commercial banking and wealth management subsidiary.
Commenting on Angela Knight's appointment, Arbuthnot Banking Group's Chairman and Chief Executive, Sir Henry Angest, said:
"Angela joins the Board of Arbuthnot Latham with a wealth of commercial and financial experience both from her time in government as a Treasury Minister and latterly as Chief Executive of the British Bankers' Association and Chief Executive of Energy UK.
"I look forward to welcoming Angela to her new role."
Angela Knight will be joining the Arbuthnot Latham Board with immediate effect.
Angela Knight is the Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Tullett Prebon PLC, a post she has held since 2011 and is currently the Senior Independent Director at Brewin Dolphin PLC. Mrs Knight is Chair of the Office of Tax Simplification, an independent body of HM Treasury. She was formerly the Chief Executive of Energy UK until December 2014, the Chief Executive of the British Bankers' Association from 2007 to 2012 and the Chief Executive of the Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers (now the Wealth Managers Association) from 1997 until 2006.
Mrs Knight was also formerly the Member of Parliament for Erewash from 1992 to 1997, serving as Economic Secretary from 1995 to 1997. Her previous Non-Executive roles have also included the Financial Skills Partnership, Lloyds TSB PLC, Scottish Widows and LogicaCMG PLC.
