Chaco Resources PLC04 May 2007 4 May 2007 CHACO RESOURCES PLC ('Chaco' or 'The Company') Dick van den Broek appointed Non-Executive Deputy Chairman Chaco Resources plc (AIM:CHP), the oil and gas explorer and developer focussedin South America, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dick van den Broekas Non-Executive Deputy Chairman, effective on 3 May 2007. Mr van den Broek waspreviously appointed as a consultant to the Company and adviser to the Chairmanon 27 February 2007. Mr van den Broek (68) has spent 33 years working in many different assignmentsworldwide for Royal Dutch Shell ("RDS"). His last assignment with RDS was asregional director for Latin America & Africa, and a director of ShellInternational Petroleum, with full responsibilities for all RDS activities inthose continents, both upstream and downstream. In Latin America, theseincluded significant upstream transactions in Colombia, Peru, Argentina andVenezuela, and many negotiations with government bodies throughout the region. Since his retirement from RDS he has acted as a consultant on strategic andpolicy related issues to various international institutions, such as toAccenture in Russia and India, to the EBRD for the Romanian oil industry and toCDC in the Philippines. Mr van den Broek is an active participant in institutions focussed on LatinAmerica such as Canning House and the Anglo-Venezuelan Society. He is of Dutchnationality, based in London, and has a Masters degree in Economics from ErasmusUniversity in Rotterdam (NL).
