I am glad to see AML falling off a cliff today. Odey hope you have a rotten weekend.

There are four principle reasons there are a lack of profits:
1) Increased deposit rates offered to negate the deposits removed due to the negative publicity
2) Ramp up in cost base due to expansion mode.
3) 14m cost of equity raise
4) Sh*tloads of money on consultants due to the fallout from the RWA issue.

The first will reduce over time as their deposit base recovers over the next 6-12 months
The second will not decrease until atleast the end of 2020, and by the end of 2022 they will have cost savings of 80m.

I personally think AML are going a lot lower and quite possibly bust for the eighth time

Not sure why this is falling with volatility increasing. This should rise, if it keeps on falling I will be buying.

Not de-ramping. this is a bargain just based on BV.

@ munger you talk a lot of carp. Have a look at rbs they are suffering the same in terms of NIM. I am sure metro is such a lousy bank that it came top of the customer service charts.

Mental buying here now, only way out is if MB buys but they won't be allowed to since these were 1900p last october.

Not sure, you cannot buy 47m shares and not move the market.

I don’t think it’s easy to close such a large position due to scarcity of shares. A lot of large holders meaning low liquidity.

The statement re equity raise means that INTU is uninvestable. There is now way they can do that at 45p a share, so that means a dreaded D4E and dilution.

Us pi’s we are lucky to buy below 120p yesterday. If a trade buyer wants to buy its 180p :-)

The problem is that there are not many buyers out there. Only one I can think of who buy retail assets is Brookfield and they won’t be interested due to the Brexit games. You have to understand the price is not only the £6-700m of Equity, it is also the $5bn of debt, since after yesterdays RNS banks will not be willing to lend so easily unless the buyer puts in a massive chunk of equity. Then they will need more money for the capex.

This company is worth far more than 180p. bod would be foolish to sell on the cheap.

Look at the profits this thing makes and its growth trajectory, plus now a cleaner balance sheet. Clear takeover fodder.

I brought 30k of this over the last few days. To the muppets who were selling, you need to be more patient and know a goldmine when you see it. If HRnet want to do a takeover, minimum they have to pay is 300p a share, anything less is not worth it.

A lot of South African funds buy into this since it is one of the few investible companies on their stock exchange.
