If Brookfield (MC: $52bn) could not make this work, not sure how a puny fund like Orion (MC:£1.5bn) will be successful. Plus this is Brookfield's bread and butter, look what they did with GGP.

If the bid for INTU comes through Odey will be well and truly snookered, Odey will then be looking at his short on MTRO and and his inception to date gains and how easily they can be lost. Interesting week ahead.

I doubt anyone will bid for this, since it costs a lot of money to bid for something in terms of advisory fees. The market know Vernon and his friends will not sell on the cheap, so bit of a waste of time and money for any bidder.

Can’t really blame goldy7, all my shares were up intraday today apart from this turkey. Sometimes enough is enough. Though I imagine he will have plenty of chances to buy back in.

Looks like he is now reducing his short. This is highest bullish IMO. No longer being priced for going bust. Maybe his Argentinian adventure has humbled him :-)

When’s goldy7 sold out I knew this would rise again. I am sure there will be a few more opportunities for him to buy back in. 7 weeks until q3 results, expect anothe 4-5 more smack downs like this. The shorts are getting desperate.

CDTN- I don’t know why you think that. Mtro is probably one of the simplest banks in the market place at the moment. Hill is also very risk averse and does not like complexity, so I am uncertain why there will be any more skeletons in the cupboard.

Hill is prolly giving out speeches on what a superstar he is, 23% annualised returns over a period of 34 years. Well he did make $300m when he sold Commerce, ~$150m of which he sank into MTRO. Must be painful to see half is life's work being kicked around on the floor by the hedge funds.

I think if you told big v metro was a British bank he would get upset. He would say that it was an American bank model which just happens to be located in the uk.

Unbelievable, and mtro has no such liabilities. The market can be irrational.
