You cannot compare a fully functioning bank with a hole in the ground with a £3-5bn contingent liability and uncertain commercial market.

No way a bid would work at 7 quid. Remember each of the big hitters put money in this at an weighted average cost of 12 quid. These are guys who have big egos and bank balances, plus they act as a syndicate so there is a bit of bravado and my d*ck is bigger than yours going on.
