The RWA issue was a confusion over the interpretation of the rules, sounds to me like a honest mistake.

The best outcome is a new management team and strategy or takeover. Both seem beyond the realms of possibility.

The problem with hill taking this private is that the bond holders will not like it. Hence why this has not moved. If Hill takes this private he will have to fund all future mrel requirements himself with his mates, and that would not be very capital efficient.

Not sure who the buyers were. The bod are between a rock and a hard place. They better have a recalibrated strategy at q3. However with Hill in the background I doubt we will see it. Only way for hills vision to survive is to take private with his backers. Since they in total own 60-70% of it already as a syndicate they just need to buy out the remaining 30-40%.

FCA and the Q3 numbers are a red herring. What the market wants to know is what is their strategy going forward, they can no longer grow at 20%, since it will require expensive MREL funding. I am not too hopeful of the current management.

Not sure why their profits are so low for a 20bn balance sheet. Too many people in head office. They need a massive restructuring exercise.
