I agree. For a 7bn mrkt cap, 700m profit is good going.
...... well at least for the short term anyway. Looks like it will be share buybacks this year though instead of special dividends. I do always wonder why they never chose to pay down debt though?
Hopefully we can all breath a sigh of relief with the RNS this morning
Interim Dividend paid today, Special Dividend paid 25th Jan. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed the figures due out tomorrow aren't terrible lol.
Hi, Anyone here interested in DPEU? Already much more established than DPP operating in markets with over 200 million people. Any views? Thanks

I'd say its a fairly safe share to own for the long term that will provide an income yes. As to prices changes, banks are cyclical, it wasn't long ago this was close to 4. No share price is immune from big price changes.
So much for investing in a nice steady company. Were they not only expecting a 40 mil write off the ither week, which dopey fool got it so wrong.
Yet another big reaction to an update which was petty much expected? Cant believe how brutal Mr Market is being during the current results season, my portfolio has taken a battering even though all, or at least most companies are performing as forecast.
Cant see anything wrong at a quick glance
Elton. As per any company not making a profit, it needs cash from somewhere. In fastjets case it has asked sharehikders for money time and time again. Anyone ingesting a few years ago would be 99.9% down on their original investment. Buying into a company which doesnt nor has ever made a profit and has no assets is a massive gamble.
All good news, but I view many boards of small companies who are not yet making a profit yet, until which the fact of the matter is that more money may be required therefore diluting the current share price. I wouldn't expect any big rises until cash flow positive.
I've just been having a nosey at FGP's finances, i'm no expert but everything appears to be going in the right direction ......... until i searched for the pension deficit, according to an article i read its £4b ..... ouch, over 3x its market cap. Any comments?
I hope your right. However im sure the forecasts were for nowhere near such a drop.
I hope the recent rise means that the following is wrong http://www.express.co.uk/finance/city/851954/Next-pre-tax-profit-2017-sale-John-Lewis-first-half-results
About 5% of the stock is shorted.
Yes in certainly not complaining. Hiwever most of any increase is down to currency movements.
anyone else losing interest in this? I should have known it was doomed for a big fall back when the MIDAS column tipped it at £2.80, thats always a red flag !!. Its also one of the top 10 most shorted stocks.
Your insightful input is much appreciated lol. I take it you haven't looked at the forecast P/E of 10 with a dividend twice covered?
