RE: Shorters5 Sep 2022 16:48
Ok CJ, lets go down that path. "i still believe someone is desperately trying to keep this down and it is costing them and soon they will be running out of fire power."
This morning the SP spiked to 130p to sell. it is now 117p to buy. The volatility of this stock allows plenty of daily time to close out various shorts., so why aren't they buying now having shorted this morning at 130p (Given they are in a hole and desperate to get out?)
Why would they need to sell (short) now? They could have closed out this morning?
I just can't see the logic of every fall (that follows a rise), being because a new short positions at low levels (120p and below) is being put in place.
If demand for the stock was genuinely there, then "real" buyers would be snapping off the MM's hands to buy at these levels.
So, my conclusion is that for whatever reason, demand is actually quite soft as this has been going on for some time now.
Occams Razor would suggest that traders are selling at around 128p and buying back in the mid teens and just taking the 5% plus on offer, and rinsing and repeating.
Its risk free, remember: they buy at 117p and sell at 128p.... then this time, the SP does not go down, but carries on going up. Ok, they have missed the latest rise but they have not lost or risked anything by simply being out of the market when the rise came.
