Currently the SP is in a trading range between 478 and 501p
A hold and close above 488p would suggest another go at breaking 501p

If it closed below 478p then 456p as a support would come into play.

Its previous valuation while impressive, is unfortunately irrelevant now. The fact that it has such capacity is obviously a good plus point, but not so good if there are no orders (in sufficient quantity) to use that capacity.

Anyway, who knows, but it would seem (just to me) as bit of a shot in the dark trying to hit a moving target to buy this stock with the likely expectation AVCT would put in a bid.

The value is probably the current cash in the bank which is probably diminishing every day.

Its a tiny company when you look at its turnover and I am amazed it valued as highly as it is. (I have no stake in this and am looking at this with a view that AVCT would buy it.)

I see some attraction from AVCT's pov, but without lots of manufacturing for a large order I can't see any rush to buy this.

If the "order" is not available then AVCT are simply adding a loss making company to their portfolio. Why do that when they have just given themselves financial breathing space?

As I say the only scenario that makes sense to me is if they have a big order ready to go for the winter flu/covid season that is fast approaching but even then I don't see any premium here.

I don't think that will be made public DGU, as its a private equity firm that has bought EVE.

It might show as a separate item in their accounts but that could be a year plus away.

Obviously they got all their info from EVE through their DD and just waited for admin to come by. They would have told EVE that was their intention I imagine and "gambled" that nobody else came in.

The fact it has been sorted so quickly suggests there was absolutely no one else interested.

I went back and forth in my mind as to why a buyer would want to bid and own EVE as a PLC rather than wait for admin and I just thought the odds were always in favour of this outcome.

This does also chime with AS's statement some time ago now, when his wish was to have the next "Roche". This is the first and imo, positive step to grow the business quickly (through M&A) rather than just organically and start to build the value of the company asap to potentially make a buy out harder or at least more expensive than it otherwise would be.

Actually the price 3 months ago was 106p so its not the rumours of a raise particularly, although that would seem to be the most recent drag.

It is more complex as there have been some big spikes in between.

It would suggest that MM's don't hold much stock which would make sense on a news-sensitive stock such as this. The result being it does not take that much to move the SP a few P and that in turn can spook others, so we get some big swings (more than 5% a day) and even allowing for the spread and even allowing for your distaste for people who "trade", it makes it worthwhile financially to try and ride the moves.

Whether or not the "rumours" of a placing are true or not, it is a fact a short has been taken out/increased at these relatively historic lows. That will weigh on the SP.

My view (fwiw), is this is basically "noise" and the fluctuation in the SP is useful for those who want to consolidate their position and to trade (if they can) the moves that routinely happen.

PL: some here may have bought at 280p based on the over excited posts from many here at time incl you, of 1000p plus within a few weeks and then watched their investment fall to the low 40's (a fall of 85%.

Celtic boy, news will shift the range of the SP but sentiment will also move the SP. Most people buy or sell before news, deciding to pre-empt what they think is most likely. And given on smaller companies news is usually limited to twice a year.

That means there is often a lot of time for the SP to move around through sentiment and you get back to the differing approaches to making money through the being and selling of stocks (I'm not advocating trading), just highlighting that in smaller stocks you can see quite big swings in the SP in the intervening weeks and months while waiting for news.

I think Gruff, the fall started because of the 4th cohort announcement. That "delay" on results took the steam out of the SP and some probably took their money off the table and put it elsewhere thinking that they have another 6-8 weeks before returning it to AVCT (if they so wish).

It looks to me that it is mostly PI 's that are buying and selling this stock and if this is BB is representative of the typical PI then the drivers of their decision making will be highly emotional. Therefore is it likely not to be rational.

And this is still ahigh risk stock and one of the elements of this type is that its easier to buy and hold on, say a 1 year trail at the begining, but when you come towards the end of the trial and a likely definitive statement is to be made on the results, then some will take some or all of their money off the table just in case the results disappoint.

Forget all the "knowledge" here on this BB, that says thats impossible: Many PI's buy stocks with little understanding of actually what the company does or id doing.

Gambling now has exploded in this country and stocks have always been a perfect market on which to lure the emotionally susceptible individual into. As a result more volatility in stocks that could potentially give large returns become very attractive to that type of "investor".

So like most things it will be a combination of factors, but the upshot is, its supply and demand.

The holder/seller has the supply and the buyer is the demand. At the moment demand is for a lower SP. If the seller refused to accommodate the demand, the price would rise, but right now the buyers are holding firm on wanting lower prices before buying the stock and the sellers are giving in.

there was a heavily news-reported item, in the press radio and TV about a cure for cancer vaccine in the next 8 years.

I think that is the cause for the majority of the SP fall today.

It bodes well for the media response if the trial is as successful as it seems to be.

Grace, Why would anyone be hanging on now. They have had weeks to sell at 5p. (sure if the SP went to 7p then that might well flush out some profit takers, I am just trying to gauge how strong 5p is likely as a support.)

Fingers crossed DD. We will know soon enough.

My "logic" is that they are now funded for some month/a year? so there is no funding issue right now hanging over the stock. In the meantime more deals might be revealed over the coming months (and in my view based on their past history that is likely rather than a silence).. The collapse in the SP has flushed out most if not all of the sellers that were doubtful.

The money coming in now at 5p therefore suggests that at least for a while, there is little reason for any meaningful sales.

At worse there is little attraction for new buyers, but with no sellers but that should at least keep the SP stable and one good RNS will give it some upward momentum.
