It means BV, that the sellers who want to sell some of their holdings, are being forced to lower their price by the lack of interest of potential buyers at the higher price they would want.

We have been through this at some length but many here don't seem to understand that.

What happens in reverse is that buyers will WANT to buy at say 122p but if sellers say no, you will have to pay more, then its up to the buyers to agree (or not) with the sellers demands.

Buyers try and force the price down, sellers try and force the price up.

The fact you struggle to understand this says more about you than perhaps you realise.

Hi Yanis, to begin with i had taken a small bite then I loaded up quite a bit more, luckily, just before the recent big move on Friday. As a result I figured there was more chance of more to come, so rather than sell, just topped up a bit more if it did indeed retrace, (which as it turned out it did),

So i have not traded this per se, as there tends to be a bit of a spread anyway, but just trying to time entry points. 45p-50p looks acheivible and I may top slice/sell around there if it makes it.

But who knows, i can be as fickle as the next man..... ;0)

And yes I realise cohort timings will vary, but I am assuming AVCT know that too, so why give a mid summer expectation (without any caveats), of the the trial finishing if it is so unlikely as to be meaningless?

I had a brief spat here back in Dec when I said the trial was delayed, expecting data to be revealed in Q4 with some posters saying his original date of Mid summer 2022 was superceded by pushing it back to Q4 and therefore there was no delay. (obviously it was not said in such measured terms as you can imagine).

So now its not Dec and early Jan is looking now suspect. So yes, if the news comes out soon and its great then fantastic, but every time it gets put back the majority here seem to say "so what, who cares", with the caveat that as long as the news comes out eventually is good. Well yeah, Duh.

Based on what? AVCT have never stated that. Its just one of the many assumptions the majority make here. Maybe they are right, but what if there was a mistake in doseages, or data was lost or corrupted, or adjustments to doseages were made and that caused a re-start to some of the DE time periods?

I have no idea but neither does anyone else. I accept all of this is the nature of the beast in this type of company, what I don't find acceptable is the constant missing of timelines that AS/AVCT issue themselves, particularly when it is such a short time span from only 19th of December.

Early Jan rules out the first few days due to markets being shut and Bank holidays etc, so straight away it narrows the window. So why say that if its tight?

Mid Jan is looser and lets you go up to around 24th/25th Jan. (And wouldn't it of been nice for it to be sooner rather than later if the info was ready say, today or yesterday?)

After all the delays on LFT resulting in ultimately poor news this is a ridiculous trip-up to make.

It puts doubt in Investors minds due to the many precedents that have gone before.

He is no longer a scientist. He is the CEO of a multi-million £ company that may be worth billions in the future with clear responsibilities to shareholders.

He set the expectation, so it is far from unreasonable to ask why he has not fulfilled it.

The December RNS is looking now to me as a a stop gap for more delay rather than just a slight missing (again) of the deadline for the trial.

We can all argue the toss here about how we see things and what we expect and all the rest of it but the one thing that we can't argue with is what AS states in an RNS.

(Ok, we can have our own interpretation but lets park that just now).

If he says in mid Dec (given the 2nd half of Dec is basically holiday time), that he is going to update the market in "early Jan" and then misses the time frame for the millionth time, then why on earth does he do it?

I think its deliberate., only because if it was a genuine mishap on timing it would not happen so often.

My logic was AVCT had the data in Dec and it was just a matter of timing to release it to the market. Now I am not so sure as I don't see anything to be gained by holding it back, given AS said Early Jan.

If the data was still to be collated or still coming in why say "Early Jan" and put themselves all under pressure?

This continually and habitual misleading the market is, imo, detrimental to the business in the eyes of ALL investors.

My big gripe there is simply no need to do this. So why do it? Don't promise what you can't deliver.

It undermines his credibility and as it is so frequent, one has to wonder he does it?

Sure, it could be out tomorrow but technically its late and if we are splitting hairs, why leave it to the very very last minute to meet his "Early Jan" forecast?

I don't know if its a stereotypical , bloody-minded Yorkshire thing but I wish he would stop it and just for once meet his OWN deadlines.

Hi D, re:G4m its saying 70 on the RSI so my 2p's worth is that it could carry on rising for a bit more yet, maybe 150 ish before a retrace/pullback but many books advise 70 as being the start of over bought territory.

Hi Yanis, As we all know shares never keep going up, there are always pull backs and retraces.

The RSI is pretty reliable that when it hits 80 its due to come off the top a bit. I think today it will be pretty close to being overbought but as I said it will be clearer tonight.

HL have been making it very difficult to trade all morning by not allowing sales (dummy in my case just so you don't go mental), when this happens it suggests the actual SP is below their sale price, so you can't sell any. And then briefly for a few minutes you can sell but its jumped up in price. which is odd to me as I have not seen that before.

I can't know for sure whats going on. One explanation its just software problems on HL's platform.
The other one is that its a very volatile market right now with a lot of activity taking place.

What has happened is that the SP is creeping up rather than down.

Due to the bias here (and thats fine ,its the AVCT BB after all), the assumption is to get in now, FOMO etc etc which could be the case but when any company gets to the make or break RNS then a number of shareholders bail because they worry they what if its not so good? As a result there is always a bigger 2-way pull then the enthusiasts sometimes recognise.

Anyway its encouraging that the SP is moving up.

Hi SI, I don't see 40p as a significant number.

For me its close of play figures so the first thing is to close above 30.5p

Assuming it does there are then a number of targets to aim for:37.50p, 45p and 50p

Back to where it might close today: assuming it does close above 30.5p then I think it will start to look a bit toppy/overbought so may well retrace back to around 30.5p before moving up.

For me it might/should be a bit clearer around 5:30pm this evening. ATB

I agree Gord, although its a bit of a pointless game, when he announced early Jan (I figured all the data was in then)it seemed to me no point just before xmas as its winding down, likwise theough Xmas and new Year.

Why wait till tuesday or thursday if the info is already ready?

So tomorrow it is... (maybe)
