The wine is made by Guigal not Guigan.
With food, all red meat especially beef, lamb, venison but also Guinea Fowl and other game birds.
There is an Aussie company called McGuigan, that is a very different wine.
I actually had 2 bottles delivered this afternoon as part of an online Tesco grocery shop, just for the fun of it.
And you and all other posters are very welcome to the advice.
Don't forget to decant a couple of hours ahead of consumption.
And no doubt some of them will be back here spouting abuse.
I just feel sorry and sad for them, that they feel that THEY MUST critisise someone who is prepared to share their expertise!!
What pathetic, little lives they must lead!
Have a great weekend,

Thank you for the correction!
I really appreciate that you did not disagree with the rest of the post. LOL!!

Thank you for your supportive posts.
ranger104uk is another example of a person who is quite prepared to be malicious behind the cloak of anonymity!
This type of poster would never have the guts to say what they think - face to face, rather type from their phone in their bedroom, in the knowledge that they will never be held to account for their disturbing diatribes.
They are the contemptable cowards of today' society, and some cause their vulnerable targets to taking irreversible actions.
They should be banned from the boards that they inhabit!!
No matter, we are maybe 3 weeks away from the Palermo Aike (Santa Cruz CLix-1001) RNS, so something to hopefully to look forward to. Not a good week, but the next few days might well be spent in formulating a few penetrating questions for Martin Hull next Thursday afternoon.
Another 6N's weekend, passion certainly but probably accompanied by some pain.

Thank you for your kind comments.
The post was an answer to a request by a fellow poster trellis35.
And why you choose to comment is utterly beyond me.
Surely, you are past your bedtime, lest you will be late for school tomorrow.
And make sure you pay better attention in your English classes as your punctuation and capitalisation really is not up to scratch for when you (hopefully/maybe) sit your standard grade examination.
Currently, you must be assessed for a fail, but you know that already! LOL!!

You will need to register on the site, in order to take part.
It only takes a minute.
The time and date is 2.00 - 4.00 PM on Thursday, 27th February.
From experience of previous sessions, we would do well to bear in mind that any questions that refer to topics that have ramifications to the value of the SP, cannot be answered.
Those are the Stock Market Rules, a line that the team answering cannot/must not cross.
A list of pre-prepared questions posted during the session seems to work best, but it is individually up to you how you get your question answered.

Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2016 from Tesco at £10 per bottle. Offer ends 24th Feb
2016 is a legendary vintage and this wine will keep until 2025. Very drinkable now and at its best if you decant it for 2 hours before drinking. I have a few cases of this in storage and a bottle, during the week is terrific.
Guigal is one of the Worlds very best winemakers. This is his "worst" wine!! It is far superior than 98% of Cotes du Rhone's made.
His best wines can cost £400 per bottle when released for sale, and there can be a queue around the corner with fans pleading to be allowed to purchase a bottle or two.
This is my house red and has been for a very long time.
I always have a case in my garage lying under a blanket. Laugh if you must, but it works.
I have just finished my last bottle from the 2012 vintage and it was utterly delicious!!
Majestic also stock this wine, £11.99 delivered and a tasting note.
https://www.majestic.co.uk/products/cotes-du-rhone-6234
Traditionally, a claret would be very acceptable. Not tasted this one but from a good vintage.
Majestic Wines. Chateau de Pitray 2014 £13.99 but offers exist.
Again, decant for a couple of hours. If you do not, you will NOT see these wines perform as well as they might have!!
Ideally, a Pauillac from one of the very best regions in Bordeaux would be best
A wine like this might cost £30 - £100's per bottle
For those offended by the O/T then tough.
I post enough ON TOPIC copy to fill a broadsheet newspaper!! lol

For those concerned then a flurry of emails to:-
aimregulation@londonstockexchange.com
could do no harm. Financial journalists or even investigative TV programs might pick this issue up.
Even a quick email to your MP might produce something.
Echo though should be looking to instil confidence, and it does not take a genius to work out how that might be done?
We have a PR consultant, Vigo Communications. 0207 390 0230. A barrage of phone calls would be unsettling for them.
There is little point in saying that Echo is in lockdown or apocryphally cannot be reached, when ringing their public phone number, gets an immediate response!! 0207 190 9930 I know that it works, I just called and Julia answered!!
I want to know what lies in the West of Tapi Aike. That is why I originally bought the shares. What has happened so far with these 5 failed wells was the fault of Ms Macauley and Dr Bessa "overseen" by James Parsons.
Tapi Aike is all about CGC and 4 wells.
I want to see this one out.
For those disaffected with Echo, then I have detailed 3 lines of communication that you can use.
WT
I am not going to argue with much that has been said here after yesterdays disappointing result.
But Echo did not operate the failed CLM x-1 well or probably had little input into the site selection either. We only own 19% of the equity in the well, if you wish to blame someone, then the failure must lie at the door of CGC! I would love to take a pop at Dr Bessa, laughingly described as the "Doctor of the Rocks!" Our failure with last years 4 wells must at least in part lie at his miserable door!
The reason that I bought into Echo was for what potentially lies in the West of Tapi Aike. And for me, nothing has changed. The seismic for the West has been done, although I was a little perturbed that they had issues with interpretation due to prevailing conditions. CGC who are paying the lions share of the remaining 3 well drilling campaign would not be spending that money is there was not encouraging data from both the original 2D and the more recent 3D state of the art seismic. We know that high pressure gas was encountered there in the 1970's which led to a blowout. The best drilling prospect in the Eastern Tapi Aike has been drilled and was found to be at best - marginal. I did not invest in Echo to be the recipient of piddly amounts of gas. The CPR did reference several TCF prospects, these will be our next targets in the Wes
I have roundly criticised Echo for not being more open with the RNS's. I don't want exaggerated or unrealistic communication, just straight and honest facts, to an industry standard. They have been reticent as to what the actual income will be from these Santa Cruz wells, I want to know what the real bottom line increase will be? And like many, I am most concerned about the appalling drain on Echo that is James Parsons and his cohorts.

We have France in Cardiff, probably with Shaun looking to extract retribution from the WRU for only offering him a one year contract. They were moronic for letting him go!
And why England did not snap him up and put him into a pair of gold and diamond encrusted handcuffs defies explanation.
Ireland at HQ for the Triple Crown. Andy Farrell might be a little conflicted, but also a score to settle here.
Farrell Jnr might do well to look out for low flying, shamrock chomping wing forwards with malice on their minds!!
Ah, the Scots in Rome. A potential banana skin of epic proportions.
After this one, the much loved and admired Townsend might well be observed in the Trevi Fountain clutching a P45! LOL
And if you must drink whisky watching the game, please ditch the universally derided Glenfiddich and go for a classy example of "Uisge Beatha" such as Springbank 10 year old. Around £45, delivered from House of Malt or £48.00 from Amazon with free delivery. Although my whisky imbibing days are hardly visible in the rear view mirror, this is one fabulous bottle.
As far as today is concerned, Eastern Tapi Aike is not the reason Echo is here.
The blowout seen in the west in the 1970's and the 6 months it took to burn out is where the real attraction is.
I hope that someone give Dr Bessa the GPS co-ordinates otherwise we will be in real trouble once again.
Echo are 0/5 on drills so far, and we must do better.
We have the 3D seismic, the well finance is in place....6 months should see us with a well drilled!

The message that we got this morning was the "Tapi Aike Partnership" failed discover an economic accumulation of hydrocarbons, at this; their best prospect in the Eastern Cube!
It can be wrapped up in fine RNS speak, but failure is just that.
They spent a not inconsiderable amount of our cash on 3D seismic and spent months deciding where and how to formulate a drilling program and they came up short. Unless the information derived from this drill derisks other nearby prospects that just missed the cut, spending more time and money here seems to be folly.
So off to the West it is. We do not know what the targets might be there?
I might be incorrect, but we were not given a number (which is normal policy to disclose) that they were targeting at this CLM x-1 well, the singular lack of success might explain that!!
What does bother me at Echo, besides after drilling 5 wells they have found nothing substantive is the drain on our recourses the salaries of Mr Parsons and his mates are.
We have income from the Santa Cruz production, but we do not know what the nett number is to our bottom line after operational/selling/fixed cost are? Then we MUST minus the cost of operating the Echo company and the inflated salary structure.
Some posters point out the similarities of Echo to Sound. The one big difference is that Martin Hull is CEO and not Mr Parsons who does appear to be somewhat toxic in the PI retail firmament. I do think that if Mr Parsons and his influence disappeared from Echo, then that might be quite the fillip to our SP!
As far as CLix - 1001, the RNS dated 30th Jan seems fairly ambiguous.
For example:
Why was the location of the top of the Springhill a surprise.
Was the seismic what had been previously done inaccurate?
Was a 3D seismic done local to the drill site done, and if not why not? Over to you, Dr Bessa!??!
There is comment that this surprise will cause further technical work to be done, at our expense or that of the vendors who supplied it?
The RNS implies that this misinformation may cause a reappraisal of reservoir volumes across the Campo Limite area which has "The presence of additional gas resources, if confirmed, would provide enhanced commercial development scenarios for existing discovered volumes at Palermo Aike."
What "existing discovered volumes at Palermo Aike?" We did not get a CPR for the Santa Cruz assets, so actually in the dark as to what we actually bought. There needs to be far better transparency here, otherwise some might say that this is all technospeak gobbledegook and that we are on the Sound V2 train headed for economic oblivion, just like those poor suckers!! Sorry, I hope that you know what I mean!
A bad day, reminiscent of last February.
We do however have3 more bites of the cherry.
In the West the gas export pipeline is further away from potential drill sites than in the East, so that any discovery must be bigger in order to justify expenditure on pipeline/ treatment facilit
The one issue that seems to be dominating the Argentinean financial territory is talks with the IMF regarding their tanking economy. We get our income in US$ but settle our bills locally in Argentinean Pesos. Inflation remains high, it would appear that we do well at both ends of the currency spectrum.
So my guess is that it had something to do with that and not a red herring with respect to our well CLM x - 1 in Eastern Tapi Aike.
And the wait goes on. As far as news is concerned, we are in the hands of CGC regarding CLM x - 1.
CLix - 1001 a very different story. We are the 70% majority shareholder in this well BUT we are not the operator. News flow normally is issued by the operator, who has recently changed. So we shall have to see how this well is finally reported upon.
We were told on the 5th Feb and 30th Jan that conventional inflow testing (NOT mechanical stimulation) on the Palermo Aike (Santa Cruz) well CLix - 1001 would commence in the second half of February. So allow a couple of weeks for that and worst case scenario that it doesn't start until 28th Feb, and we might still be waiting until mid March. You might wish to argue that it starts on Valentines Day and is relatively quick. So a reasonable window for results on this well might be at the very earliest 21st (ish) Feb to 14th March. So nobody hold your breath.
The Tapi Aike well CLM x-1, we were told on the 6th Jan that the 2 programs of mechanical stimulation would take a total of 4 weeks. On 5th Feb RNS we were told :-
"The Company looks forward to updating shareholders on the results of the Campo La Mata x-1 well (CLM x-1) at Tapi Aike in due course."
The mechanical stimulation on the 2 zones of the CLM x-1 given guidance of a total of 4 weeks could have been completed by early Feb. We are now a further 2 weeks down the road.
The naysayers might speculate that this has the "Modus Operandi" of a year ago. We were left hanging by "the Princess" for a very long time before the executioners axe fell!
The optimists might contend that something half decent has been found.
Scenario 1. Gas found but not in commercial quantities.
Scenario 2. Gas found but commerciality marginal.
Scenario 3. Commercial volumes discovered, within the range of expectations.
Scenario 4 Commercial volumes discovered, far in excess of expectations.
My view, given the 4 possibilities is that Scenarios 3 & 4 being the more likely, given the ongoing delay.
And without being overly optimistic, the longer the delay of news, the more likely Scenario 4 applies.
The one caveat being that if Scenario 1 or 2 is the RNS, and given last years cowardly delay; if CLM x-1 is a relative failure and they take an inordinate period of time reporting that to us, then Martin Hull is a clone of Ms Fiona MacAulay with the strings being pulled by Mr Parsons.
That's me done!!
WT
And now for a non-anticipatory afternoon! lol

As I see it, Echo can NOT issue an RNS prior to the CGC EGM & the opening of the Buenos Aries stock market at 2.00 pm our time, 11.00 am their time. NOT one minute earlier.
If Echo released early, that would "kneecap" CGC with their announcement.
Bearing in mind, this is 95% conjecture and the odds are on a non - Echo related CGC EGM!!
It does however make for an interesting Monday Morning.
WT
On the question of share dealing giving us a clue, there really has not been many substantive deals of late.
One could cite the spate of 100,000 buys last week, but when around 720 million shares have been issued, that is a mere piddle in the pond!??! lol
I have difficulty believing that if there was good news in the offing and a character with the unenviable reputation of James Parsons Esq. was involved then it seems improbable that he and his cohorts might not have taken advantage of the situation, but as ever delighted to be proved wrong and his/their tarnished reputations gets a belated polish!
I ask myself how leaky is the good ship Echo, we have the opportunity to see in the run up to 14.00 hrs with the caveat that a beneficial announcement for Echo occurs this afternoon??
WT
James Parsons appears to be toxic and in the unkind firmament of Social Media, I think that will only get worse.
As far as Echo is concerned, at no time did I think that an RNS could be issued by Echo this morning unless it was about Palermo Aike.
CLM x-1 is 81% owned by CGC and they would have to take the lead in the deployment of news!
The one Million $ question is what is their EGM at 14.00 this afternoon about?
If it is about nothing to do with Tapi Aike, we are back to square one waiting for RNS's from Echo regarding Tapi/Palermo Aike wells.
If it is about the Tapi Aike well (CLM x-1) it can only be incredibly good news, as a very large conglomerate like CGC would not be calling an EGM about a well unless it was hugely significant to their business. We should expect a matching RNS from Echo at the same time.
To be honest and on reflection, I do think that this CGC EGM is a red herring and tomorrow morning we will once again be looking for RNS's about our two wells. I would adore to be proved incorrect, surprises do occur so we shall just have to wait and see.
Maybe share activity in the lead up to 14.00 might give us advance warning.
WT
All this trading, whilst not big time; might be interpreted as possibly indicative of "something" on Monday.
It has made the back end of this week, thought provoking!
All we can do over the weekend is to patiently await 14.00 Monday afternoon, as I cannot see Echo pre-empting CGC with an RNS at 07.00 London time.
No doubt a lot of excited optimism, predictions (sensible to utterly outrageous) and hope over the weekend on these pages.
We have been starved for a year for the possibility of something positive, there just maybe something over the horizon?
Monday afternoon may well deliver that, given the buying activity, but whatever happens our two drills may very well deliver at a later date.
Have a good, stress free (lol!!) weekend.
WT
MrMarkyB
Not wishing to be "rampy," but today already around one million in share buys including 3 X 100,000 trades.
My attention is piqued (LOL!!), it fits with previous days buys.
So "ALL" we need is something substantive or better on Monday.
I have no idea quantitively what that might be, but I am sure that others might wish to dip their toes into this one.
It is just possible that on Monday evening, those who were brave today, even for small trades might see a terrific return in their investment over just a few days??!!??
For me though, I have all the shares that I require. A 1P rise in Echo will represent a £10,000 asset increase for me!
And I have lots of wine to buy this year with Rhone 2018, Barolo 2016, Burgundy 2018 and Bollinger 2012 all coming to market.
I really hope for all of us, that the next few months will deliver what last year spectacularly failed to produce.
WT
rekoplee
OK, let's speculate.
I notice that since last Monday, we have had (round numbers) buys approximating to 2 million shares.
I have not seen a buying pattern like this before.
I might be wrong, so please feel free to correct me.
Not a lot, given how many shares are in circulation.
But someone seems to be accumulating.
Tomorrow will be the last full day of trading, before the CGC EGM on Monday.
Does someone know something, BUT does not want to attract too much attention?
If this is a pattern associated with Monday, then the buying may accelerate tomorrow?
There again it might just be an odd coincidence, and Monday will come and go with the CGC meeting having no implications re: Echo.
And on Monday evening we will still be here looking for RNS's on our two wells.
How's that for a bit of Thursday evening speculation, optimism and taking a positive view? LOL!!
I am not averse to the occasional conspiracy theory.
Not too long to wait.
