All true... However, the crazy cost of postage in these islands, and the relatively high cost of the MoonPig product (CF is definitely better value online as well as in shops) counters the argument. But... MoonPig obviously seen as a growth stock much more than CF. Not sure why, but management at CF needs to prove they are moving forward, and I find the lack of decent CF advertising rather short-sighted. US uncertainty sits over a big potential move upwards for CF but how much cash have they wasted if this now fails in Trump times... Still - I'm setting 150p as my target...

The US announcement is now overdue I think, certainly based on what I understood from the half year update. I expect it was necessary to await the US election, but with Trump on his way are there any informed views on how this will impact the deal. Seems more negative than positive to me at first thought, but I am not knowledgeable in this area.

Card has been slightly reducing staffing from what I've heard, and the NI increase isn't until April 2025. Ignoring the now indisputable truth that RR is a moron and the Budget was a con, CF has ages to work out how to maintain profitability. Of course, a greater online presence should now be a definite target but the core business remains competitive, cash generative, and the current sp is being driven down by shorters. Why else would it drop so much immediately after going xd? Anyway, I'm nicely in this one and happy to wait and take divs. Panic not, faithful investors and ignore the many louses posting de-ramping nonsense...

Our rather desperate government are looking like doing lots to hurt UK employers but CF have their low prices and solid offering to allow corrections. Merry Xmas! And at least 4.8p a share dividend over next 6.5 months. Covered many times over. Only thing is... What's happening with Aldi and US developments? Gone rather quiet...

Polishcap is nothing but a simple de-ramper. Ignore his rubbish and dyor. These chat forums are almost useless now for the ridiculous comments from too many manipulators. Ignore them, be patient and sleep well. The very very worst thing anyone with CF shares can do now is to sell them!

Judging by stuff on LinkedIn, CF have recruited a lot of senior managers and business development staff over the past 12 months and this, I suspect, has contributed ntially to the staff wage increase. We really need an update on the US and Aldi deals very soon to help justify some of this...

I got back in too soon but am confident. Just back from Caterham CF shop. Roadworks have screwed the high street since January, but CF shop was neat, busy and I chatted to the lovely lady serving. Some observations... 1. 6 people in the shop, till ringing at 11am on a Tuesday. 2. Prices didn't seem to have gone up - but staff and systems have improved. Lady on till gassed up a balloon in seconds at the till - much better than previously. 3. Not much Halloween stuff, and some Xmas stuff but not excessive. 4. Mostly older people or young families in the shop. Neither wants to wait or go online. I think the analysts totally estimate the 'grey hair' brigade. They give cards and little presents, like to spend small amounts and see value, and don't like the internet if a good immediate shop exists. 5. I asked about balloons. Lady on till said they do at least 50 balloons every day and 100 on Saturday! Great usp for CF. 6. The newish PoS system saves them a lot of time in the store but - she said - it goes down every couple of months and costs a few hours full trading. Thus investment must be paying off overall though. 7. My confidence was increased. Good luck!

Repurchase right now makes perfect sense! If only because it's in Chapter 1 of the BoD Bible! Especially with the modern 'give shares to staff and mostly directors game' that should be banned. It's getting to the point I'm going to borrow money to put in. The shorters and those who have sold will have to buy back at some point and this one is not going bust. What a ridiculous wild west our unloved country's decent companies are subject to. But it would be nice if our BoD re-read that first chapter and acted...

It seems increasingly odd that posters here who have not seen the sp to from 90p recently took over 140p and then back again with most reasonable sp forecasts miles above the 140p level are sitting and waiting. By all means wait, but it seems rather odd. I can wait until this current cycle rises again as any numerical analysis suggests it has to.

I'm back in. Sold a lot of shares while the price was up (averaged about 134p) and bought back in a bit prematurely but then I always do. Never will learn. With interim and an easy cover on the next final it looks like about 5p dividend or possibly more earned over next 7 months... That'll do for me. From recent jumps, when this share does re-rate upwards (if it does) then the rise is probably quick and a big jump is my hope and expectation. Good luck.

Neither company's updates warranted such drops. The drops are signs of how broken the 'market' is, with players around who can manipulate weak holders. Have to be patient and buy at reasonable lows. And take profits when prices are up. Good luck all!

card's not currently in danger from shorters - the debt is nice and low and it's clear the bod is keen to lower it further rather than overdistribute cash by way of dividends. but woolworths was destroyed this way (pe debt, selling off property, then shorters march in when debt is out of control). bye bye a great british institution. hello lots of ****e pound shops and aldi / lidl. shorting is fine - it's using shorting to bring a company down that - imho - is not fine and not what shorting should be for.
