I know this is almost ridiculous, but given how totally inefficient the UK LSE is now for providing reasonable valuations of companies listed, is it time for CF to move to a US listing now it has a US exposure? So many UK companies have been damaged by market antics and shorters over here (Darktrace, Hargreaves Lansdown, Direct Line etc) with silly market caps demonstrated by the value when sold or taken off the market. The BoD should be asked why staying in London with a pathetic P/E and market cap is in the best interest of shareholders. Anyone agree? Or can tell me why I'm being ridiculous... Look at the price / capitalisation when CF came to market compared with now. Also, the BoD should be doing what they can to pay bigger dividends as they have failed to persuade anyone this is a true growth stock, so to increase sp they need to increase proportion of profit distributed.

Falling £ against $ should increase valuation of US assets in base currency and any profit contribution... Slight concern that M&S and Greggs and others are being punished for good results but a dividend should help. I just woke the BoD doesn't produce decent results and talk the future down too much. It's already clear that prices are going to rise and CF can do that easily to cover increased costs. Shame that the whole UK economy is screwed but that's essentially true throughout the G20. My money is in a write-down of Government Debt in the not very distant future across the whole G20. Say... 20%. It's not sustainable anywhere (except Norway).

Whole UK market is tanking due to this Government's policies and especially Gilt yields. No-one wants UK equities. I guess this is starting to be a liquidity crisis for UK equities generally. Dividends will be the best defence. BoD please note!

With all the sickness - hospitals overrun - and a bumper time of year for the unfortunate to book their trip to see St Peter - Get Well Soon and With Sympathy cards must be flying out of the door alongside the ever-hopeful Valentine rubbish. Kerching! If only I had some more cash to buy some more Share's, but I'm max'ed out!

Gross margins are rather silly, and depend on many things so net margins and profit as well as free cash-flow and debt levels are much more useful things to consider. The de-rampers are trying everything but unless you actually know that CF is about to post bad trading figures I will ignore you. We will know soon enough. A price of 92p is utterly ridiculous given it's dropped so much with no reason other than general retail malaise and some aggressors and shorters. I'll stick with the director buys, the update a month ago and what I see on the shops.

De-rampers out in force on ADVN. Crazy. Luckily not so many troublemakers on this channel but still a couple of regulars who pop up from time to time. Not long until the update. And hard to see how a PE of 6 will stick for long even in this wretched broken UK stock-market. I can live off the divs and will hold long-term as will any honest investor.

There have been several aggressive attacks on this company as is so common with UK companies. However, bigger shorts are down and all signs are basically good to excellent for trading update. If private holders panic and sell this only adds to the problem, of course. UK is in a terrible mess for many reasons but this company is trading well and was up at over 140p recently. Only professional aggressors have taken it down. Up to you, but I'm holding!

Agreed totally with the positive thinkers. Just wish I'd sold some at 102p or so and carried on buying at 95p and recycling the process, but knowing my luck it would jump 20p and I'd miss out. It's happened before so I'll wait. Good luck all positive investors!

Here we go again. Loads of Algo sales - usually in the morning after market open. Presumably trying to hit sell limits and profit from others selling. Does seem a very risky and odd strategy when this is already down 35% from a local peak and expecting decent results with lots of new positives. I wish I knew who it was as it seems likely to be a single player. Could be an institution reducing exposure but why do that when the sp is so relatively low. Fascinating but weird.

Algo sells getting increasingly desperate! Just about managing for now but the price is inching up and it's only a matter of time. Can't believe it's will be under £1 come update on 14th.

Yes, totally clear signs of manipulation as far as my scheming brain is concerned. They're hoping we all panic sell at 105p once the price start to rise. My target is now start selling at 150p!

Loads of automated sells. Possibly linked to the general malaise but we've seen these attacks many times before over last 4 months especially. Don't panic! They have to buy it back in most cases and just want us all to throw our arms in the air and press sell buttons. What a joke! Good news almost certainly coming in 10 days. Good luck...

Yes, weirdly it was more 'honest' when insider trading was rife, but trade volumes were more limited. The commiditisation and dumbing down chasing reduced costs and automation is good for some, but doesn't seem to have boosted the efficiency of markets or fair pricing of stocks. Outsourcing and offshoring have been disasters for client service. Anyway, with the new tax regime in the UK I need to give almost everything I have away and hope to live 7 years!

Yes, fishy and my confidence in the UK stock market has been badly shaken over the past 7 years daily trading. Worked in the City from 1983 and things were so different then! All went wrong with shorting, hedge funds, the US invasion, and Private Equity. And the useless regulators! The only solution is patience and taking some hard knocks. I now avoid any company where debts goes too high - shorters can easily kill any such business, and do!

Broker notes are usually written by kids with little knowledge - especially for smaller market caps. I worked at UBS around Europe a few years ago. The place was already chaotic and littered with idiots. I doubt it's changed. Looks like the Algo sellers have pushed the price back a bit this afternoon but the clear direction over the past few days is back up again. Confident!

Nice rise today. Fingers crossed for a little better UK market news over next few weeks. Not sure how markets will react to Gilt yields rising as confidence in UK disappears. Fairly convinced CF update on 14th will be positive and hope they don't over-emphasise 'headwinds' as they have done before. Good luck!

M007 chappie, please do some more research on your own before this excessive repeated negativity. There are already lots of posts about this and you can look at what broker reports say and company releases of information. Card Factory's business model has many advantages over other retailers. We're pretty tired of de-rampers here...

The usual duff information from LSE. Laughable. Buys and Sells cannot be trusted at all, and timings are open to many forms of reporting abuse. However, I do expect this share will creep up a bit ahead of the 14th Jan update...
