What happens to BP share price if the market tips over in the US ?
Im no chartist but i think if we break 290 to the downside, i can see 250 on the cards
any views ?

Thank god for the fantastic results otherwise we would all missed out on the massive 0.71% gain in share price today

Thank you for your reply. i agree with your comments totally, this stock is a total gamble, the down side is easy to calculate everyone who has shares in this company loses all their money. including me, thats easy. but......
The upside of this industry / company into a completely new market could be phenomenal, i will be there either way

All the hype during the initial float has now passed, the quick money has been made, now is the boring time until products are launched & we can see the potential of this new company
Management team looks good
Time is right for this new product on a global scale
i have been thinking, independent of the product launch / sales etc, who does this new pain relief product hurt financially ? answer i think is the drug companies, if you can rub a cream on for arthritis instead of taking a expensive drug , with all its side effects, i would
They have deep pockets & could snap up this baby company for nothing ( £ 500m ) & incorporate into there portfolio
they can have my shares for 100p no problem

Anyone else having trouble buying these shares ?
Im with HL can sell shares ok but not able to buy ?

I have placed a bet on this stock not an investment, as at the moment it cannot be judged by any normal investment measure as they don’t sell anything or make any money.
The money I have used as my bet has be produced by normal investing in shares on the uk market, if I lose it all so be it, it will sting but not the end of the world. On the other hand if the share reaches 40p it will give me my DB11

The biggest threat to BP & all other uk shares at the moment is nothing to do with the shares themselves or even the UK stock market, imho it is the inflated bubble of the US market
Even though we have not enjoyed the party of massive rises in stock values in the UK as the US has had, we will still have the hangover of lower prices in the UK when the US bubble bursts , as it inevitably will
I have sold all my stocks over the last few weeks ( BP being my biggest & favourite ) & plan to carefully trade in & out over the next few months & wait for the nose dive of a fall which i feel is coming to all markets this year

Couldn’t resist it, had a nibble back in @ 4.27 pm @ 290
Had been weighing up too many issues , end of tax year, opec + meeting, lockdowns in Europe, s&p all time high all going round & round in my head, 2 glasses of Sauvignon blanc made the decision for me, buy the shares and forget about it.

looking at the chart we need to hold the 290 level over the next week, if that breaks i can see 270-260

Thanks for the reply,
I too am in the same position I sold 60,000 shares at 305 p with the same agenda, to realize the profit & put the proceeds into mine & the wife’s isa next tax year so in the future tax in not an issue.
BP have been my favorite long term hold & trading stock & dividend cash cow for years, I will buy them back over the next few weeks
Please don’t base you investment timing on my off the wall rants on this forum,

Stupid idea or not ?

If I were a Market maker in any U.K. stock tomorrow, which is the last trading day of the financial year I would be aware of customers selling stock to realize profits or selling stocks to use losses against winning investments.
I would mark prices down tomorrow & raise them next Tuesday, first day of the new tax year when they want to buy the same shares back.
I fancy playing them at their own game, buy tomorrow & sell on tuesday

Anyone any thoughts ?

I too believe a retest of the 280 is on the cards, ive set a buy at 279.07 , just a random number i picked out of thin air, do you have any TA levels / areas

Thanks for the reply & i agree with your points entirely, i am partly looking at this from a fundamental perspective & now at a TA point of view, thanks to tacet & co. with their excellent analysis
The run up from early feb @ 250 ish to the recent top at 320 + ish i think needs a healthy pullback, to 290-280 ish to be sustainable. Thats the reason for the sale today, if we runaway too far uphill the downhill always beacons

Sold my entire holding today 60402 shares at 3.05 average.
Great stock with dividends to boot, i will buy all back at hopefully 280 in not too distance future
IMHO next few weeks will be dominated by rising bond yields in US which reversers the dollar decline, commodities ( inc oil )have had a great run over the last few months, great reason to book some profits.
Fed still printing money & reconfirming they are not raising rates any time soon, inflation not a risk, the bond markets dont believe them
The tech market in US is a massive bubble waiting to burst, when it does it will take all markets with it short term, thats the time to buy

Just my rambling thoughts, hopefully wrong

ps. does any one else follow oscar carboni ( google him ) followed him for years has a good grasp of this stuff
