Easyjet and IAG surging today. TUI also having a lot of bookings from vaccinated...all bodes well.
Very good news, again diversifying into new technologies/sectors. RR will probably become the showcase of British expertise even more so than before as the government needs to trump its success post-Brexit.

One to keep an eye on. Saudi Arabia and Denmark have also developed their own versions and IATA as well. Hopefully Israel will be the trailblazer in showing how they can safely reopen society - they have vaccinated 21% of their population!
Yes crazy, this should be blue...why the sell off!
The SP should be a lot bigger - not even keeping up with the rest of the sector!
Lovely recovery...bit more buying pressure and could knock out a few short stops :)
Horrible situation emerging with the hospital and case loads but lockdown whether it's tiers/national whatever, doesn't make much difference to the flights as not many are flying anyway in europe. It's all about the vaccination rollout now and buying the rebound stocks like RR.
Looks like national lockdown but again it's a global company, not just UK! Yanks don't seem too panicked -stabilised there and Frankfurt closed at 112p which tracks pretty closely the LSE.
I expect the rules will be announced shortly for vaccinated travellers- logically if you have a valid COVID travel pass you should be able to travel without restriction or quarantine - these early travellers will help reopen the skies.
Very surprising to see Rolls down today. With the Brexit deal and massive news of AstraZenica vaccine the market has just not priced this in. Patience will pay out and have picked up some more.
Not at all concerned with low volume. Added more. Watch this when US opens.
Yes, very surprising to see this below 125 this morning, let alone 120p! Looking cheap.
I suspect some of the 'concern' being shared by some posters is less to do with the covid situation and more to do with a missed opportunity or a poorly timed trade.
The SP is just a snapshot of the company at a particular point in time and when the situation changes fundamentally you are effectively buying a different company to before. Although it's psychologically difficult to reinvest at a higher entry, if you remain blind to the changes then you will miss out further upside. Fundamental changes for Rolls are the Brexit deal and Astra-Zenica (the game-changer for the UK and expected to be approved Monday).
The vaccination campaign will benefit hugely from the Astra-Zenica rollout. It's worth remembering that this will put and end to the covid situation and restore travel with a massive rebound from pent-up demand. You don't need to vaccinate everyone. The high risk population is only a fraction of the population and thankfully we have already vaccinated close to a million of them already. The absolute numbers for infections make for good headlines, but it's more important how many are critically sick and hospitalised. I expect this have a very strong blue day, not least with folks buying UK stocks as a recovery play plus the rising strength of sterling.
Great top up here at 117p mini-wobble over fish again, but will rally hard on announcement.
Should easily coast past 120p with a deal, perhaps 130p if the odds are in our favour tomorrow. Santa arrived just in time!
Yes this should be up a lot higher given the Brexit deal is 'in the bag' and other aviation related stocks are up much higher.
Nice entry. Better than mine but I was lucky to gather some more here at the lows. Not sure it'll hold tomorrow but it was strong into the close. Looks like the French are not happy with the Brexit deal, so I'm writing the deal off. Still some dry powder left, but used up a lot today!
Interesting. Looks like that's the final offer there...take it or leave it Barnier.
What a day. I saw the FTSE futures tumbling so expected might dip max 10% but 95p for RR and 125p for IAG was a huge swing.
Actually cargo planes should be in demand with the new restrictions. Anyway, easy to get caught up in the local news but the wider news of US stimulus is more important I think.
108p could get hit if the market is feeling unkind, but I will be buying more if it gets that low. Might adjust that upwards if the FTSE100 futures trade higher than they are now. I think the stimulus deal is a big plus and I am also optimistic of a brexit deal now, which is a real catalyst.
