.. arnt used against flu because of its mutations .. they are used against things like measles and mumps because these don’t mutate.

It will be interesting to see how that gets on but in my opinion targeting and homing t-cells in on specific more stable parts of a virus sounds like it could produce a powerful vaccine that would need ‘twee king’ a lot less frequently than the current batch.

Yes perhaps ... and the government seems committed to doing some of the funding anyway !?

It’s really sad that CRUK has had to scale back .. I imagine that this will affect many projects far worse than scib2 , considering the journey scancell has undertaken since it was forged..

Indeed, Scancell is a different machine than when they did that deal with CRUK ... and scib2 could be improved further now with the addition of Avidimab. I just feel that those who just focus on the ‘failure’ side of this agreement are ignoring what else it could mean for scib2 and scancell.

But granted, when collaborations end the main news is the collaboration ended ....

So dick sold you his shares for around 12.4p ! Nice work ! It didn’t quite get down below my average so haven’t taken the opportunity this time .. yet ! I love aim .. scancell get full control over scib2 again because CRUK is struggling with its finances.. and that’s apparently a really bad thing for scancell ??

It’s amazing that human ingenuity has come up with what it has already ... and anything is better than nothing ! Also, I’d go as far as to say that having several solutions is also better than having one !

Nobody here really thinks that scancell will win the race of the second generation vaccines either ! It’s actually not really a race but a challenge to have as many options against a changing virus landscape ...

All advances are very welcome and that scancells scientists are part of that push is incredible !

I’m sure we all, including Knowlesi, wish scancell all the success possible because that will benefit many people ... same sentiment goes to all their other projects too!

We all know many companies and labs are working flat out to find solutions to these problems ... good luck to them all !!
