Rolls-Royce share price forecast
Although an end to the coronavirus pandemic appears to be in sight, there could be a lasting negative effect on the Rolls-Royce share price forecast.
One lucrative area that helps drive upbeat Rolls-Royce share news is the company’s civil aerospace division. This part of the company is responsible for maintaining the jet engines used in the wide-body planes that, until a few months ago, ferried millions of people around on long-haul flights.
The challenge facing the Rolls-Royce share forecast going forward lies in how many of these planes have remained grounded during the pandemic, with demand for international travel drying up as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. Maintenance is a crucial revenue stream for the company – and flying hours in the first 11 months of this year stood at just 42 per cent of what they were in the whole of 2019. That was worse than the 45 per cent that the company had been predicting.
But here’s the problem: once the vaccine has been rolled out to the masses, and things start to return to normal, it might be some time before the aviation sector fully recovers to pre-pandemic levels. Indeed, some airlines have warned the downsizing they have embarked on throughout the crisis could end up being a permanent feature.

Are you waiting 5 years to get your £'s? Too long
More than 70,000 people have now died in the UK within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

When there are only 1,000,000 being vaccinated a wk. Then it's going to years, years to vaccinate just under 70 million. Do the maths. Like everything Johnson and his government do. He makes a bad job of it! Can't get PPE right, follow advice he's been given, ie he got covid 19 and should have followed social distancing advice. But he new better than his own advice.
What are the details of the Rolls rights issue?
In order to raise £2 billion, Rolls is issuing 6.4 billion new shares. This will give shareholders the right to buy 10 new shares for every three already owned, at a price of 32p per new share.
The move will increase the total number of Rolls shares in existence by 333%, from 1.93 billion to 8.37 billion. With so many new shares in circulation, shareholders will see their holding diluted by 77% if they don't take up their rights.
Shares were trading at 130p before the rights issue was announced on 1 October, meaning that pricing the new shares at just 32p represented a 75% discount.
But in reality, the discount is 41% based on the theoretical ex-rights price of 55p, which is the level when factoring in the impact of the new shares. The size of dilution will be influenced by the number of rights issue shares acquired during the cash call.
Should the company’s existing shares fall below the price the new ones are being offered at — as happened with banks such as Royal Bank of Scotland in the financial crisis — there is no point subscribing, as you can buy the shares more cheaply on the stock market.

Rolls Royce Bouncing Back in 2021 With New Cash and New Partnerships
Rolls Royce share price seems to have recovered well from Monday’s market shock. Airline stocks were put under pressure by the news of the emergence of a mutant coronavirus strain, which led to several EU nations closing their borders to the UK.
Rolls Royce may have suffered greatly this year as a result of the pandemic, but it is gradually rebuilding itself from the basics. An October round of rights and bonds issues led to an extra £5bn liquidity boost, as well as plans to invest significantly in the company’s power systems division seem to be the drivers for a recovery of the stock.
The company has also announced a partnership with Infosys, to drive research and development for the expansion of its civil aerospace business. This is as the rollout of coronavirus vaccines are expected to bring normalcy to the aviation sector in the coming year.
