So it appears a certain posters doom mongering or should i say "questioning" has had it's desired affect again :)

The board has gone off in a huge tanget talking about risk, of course risk exsits in any share, but when all Scancell have done in the last few months is mitigate the risks via Redmile/government funding, posting in such a way seems, to put it politely, a little disingenous?

When Instead we should really/also be talking about the huge significnace of yesterdays RNS, not just terms of what was said in the RNS but what implies with the progress/decisions made about the Covid vaccine.

I wonder if said poster has even backed up their claims of risk with some sound analysis? lol

Btw.....very importantly this is all In my opinion of course, i would never claim to post facts unlike other posters ;)

Hi all, bit of a random first post on here but are certain AIM shares from CGT even if they are in a normal trading (i.e. non ISA) account? There's certain criteria i.e. not listed on another international exchange? Isn't there somewhere you can find out by paying a small fee if that company (i.e. VELA) is exempt?
P.s. Been here for a few months, looks to be very interesting times ahead here? Although I wished I'd waited to dip my toe back in after the initial spike!

Prof. Jonathan Ball does mention Scancell, but like say he did not use their twitter handle or a hashtag, which seems a bit odd.

Fair point Inanaco, however my point is the goverment has been/were throwing money around like confetti, they should have given the likes of Scancell some initial "seed" money at least to get things started whilst the full evalution by Innovate was happening...IMO. Don't forget Scancell had to go to some effort to create what was essentially a donation video on Sky as well as appearing on Sky News to get the exposure and ask for government/outside funding.
Some might say that initial seed money would have been wasteful, but look at how much money has been blown already anyway.
IMO the £2m given to Scancell still seems low(?), relatively speaking. Also doesn't it also say in the RNS that the £2m isn't quite all the amount needed?

@dalester - yeah you're basically saying what I'm thinkiking and why I posted it.
I've constantly gone on about the lack of impartiality with regards to this government and the signing of deals, not just vaccines, but every large deal/procurement.

Not saying the GSK/sanofi vaccine shouldn't have funded as much or as quickly as it did but it does not look good when the Chief Scientific Officer making the key decisions has a boatload of shares in one of the now (taxpayer) funded companies. IMO he should have got rid of these before this process started.

Also...I keep thinking that it took near enough 6 whole months for Scancell/nottingham to get a paltry (relatively speaking) £2m from the government...6 months!

I think we're all getting our own interpretations of the term "US strategy" mixed up.
FWIW I thought(?) in this context it was the whole David Evans/Nasdaq listing thing, and how todays announcement moves on from that? But I can see others points of views. There is overlap/disambiguity of the term perhaps.
But anyway............Let's just agree to disagree on the "semantics" of the term "US stategy" and move on perhaps?

Maybe worth getting back onto what the new appointment can bring to the table?

Whilst I'm sure we all wish Dr Alan Lewis a speedy recovery and that it is not a serious illness, does anyone else think this is also partly a strategic move? I'm not sure how it works with companies, especially AIM, but saying someone in a board of directors is being replaced because of ill health seems to be a common thing? Or maybe I'm imagining that? Plus it saves face a little too perhaps? You wouldn't want to be replaced on a BOD just like that I guess.
But I wonder if Redmile would have have had some input/influence here about this appointment? She appears to have a lot more experience and seems to have worked at a bigger scale of deals than her predecessor. All IMO.
