Research Scientist (3 positions available)
Location: Nottingham, Permanent
Scancell Ltd is an innovative biotech company with research facilities based within the Biodiscovery Institute at Nottingham University. Scancell is currently conducting a Phase 2 trial of its ImmunoBody® vaccine in melanoma patients and also progressing to a first-in-human Phase 1/2 study of its Moditope vaccine in patients with advanced solid tumours. The successful candidates will be integrated in a multidisciplinary team involved in the development of our ImmunoBody® and Moditope® cancer vaccine platforms, our AvidiMabTM therapeutic antibody platform, as well as our COVID19 COVIDITY vaccine.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful scientists will join a team and apply their expertise in the development, in vitro and in vivo validation of novel T-cell, antibody or CAR-T cell targeted immunotherapeutics.
All candidates must have excellent written English and oral communication skills, record keeping and computer skills (MS Office, GraphPad Prism, specific analysis software). They must have the ability to design and execute independent work plans and to work as part of a team. They must demonstrate a desire to learn new techniques and apply these to a high standard (attention to detail and accuracy are essential). Research scientists must have the ability to analyse and interpret data and write timely reports. Candidates must have a strong work ethic with excellent time management, be able to work to tight deadlines and be flexible to work out of standard hours if required.
