Research Scientist 3 (CAR-T cell immunology)

Key responsibilities:

-Produce lentiviral CAR constructs, transduce T cells and assess their target killing potential in vitro and in vivo
-Critically analyse and interpret data and produce timely reports

Essential skills/requirements:

-PhD in immunology, the role would suit a newly qualified PhD level scientist with proven lentiviral/CAR T cell or TCR analysis experience
-Evidence of published work in a CAR T cell/TCR-related field
-Detailed knowledge of human immunology
-Experience with lentiviral transduction/transfection of immune cells
-Proficient in immunological assays such as ELISpot, multicolour flow cytometry, CTL lysis
-Proficient in sterile cell culture of cell lines and isolation (bead-based) and culture of primary human/mouse cells.
-Experience in flow cytometry-based cell sorting

Desirable skills:

-Experience with in vivo mouse model development
-Molecular biology skills including expression vector design, sequence analysis

Yes it seems things are moving quickly in the background with regards to Covidity and these recruitments?

IMO something is afoot either way!

Interesting note in the criteria:

Where as the Scancell one is more specific I think?
"..Home office PIL qualification and experience with in vivo work"

These have to be seperate roles if one is perm and the other contract right?

Note how this is fixed term role with an immediate start, so i assume in addition to the Scancell research technician?:

But yeah some very intriguing elements in there. "'Develop nanoparticle formulation for commercialisation" is the big one for me, and as you say "Proactive communication and collaboration within a consortium of collaborators'" (unless they mean the 2 x universities + Scancell?)

Good find Crumbs, although not diectly paid by Scancell you could say they are essentially working for them perhaps?
So that's 4/5 new employees if you include the NED in space of few weeks...expanding indeed.

P.s. The role specifically wants the applicant to be a "Fellow in nanoparticle engineering". Which whilst not unexpected it's good to see they want/need further expertise in the area. Also not sure when the job was posted but closing date is Monday 19 October 2020, I wonder if they need to move quicker with Covidity?
