Purely IMO, I think this could possibly be past the stage of a another small grant from the government, this could be further along the line than that (in the background), i say that because:
- The Cobra manufacturing deal.
- The new recruits with home office experience.
- And now Vulpes converting their loans.

Something has changed in the last few days and there has been some movement RE Covidity...again IMO.

Also obviously the government would have got headwind of this report before it was released to the general public, and I assume the likes of Scancell/Nottingham Uni would have heard on the bio grapevine about these results before they were released today?

I wonder if it was government employees in the know who were buying late today ;)

Thomas Moore on sky news approx 10min ago, saying something along the lines of "antibodies may not be the answer when it comes to a vaccine".

IMO focus is going to change very quickly now.

IMO todays news will really put the Scancell/DNA/T-cell approach right to the fore now.
I do wonder if activity behind the scenes RE Covididty is what prompted Vulpes to covert those loan notes yesterday?

@C7 - you mentioned a univeristy of Anglia proffesor on Sky news, almost describing Covidity to a tee, any more details? what time was this on?

I wonder/hope this will create some extra(?) impetus for the Scancell/T-cell approach by the government, for the sake of the elderly at the very least.
Saying that though, we don't know what is going on in the background, but we know they are recruiting additional scienctific staff that need to have home office/government experience, so maybe things are moving fast(er) than we think?

Not sure if significant, (probably not) but neither RNS for the AGM nor Vulpes' conversion of their loan notes were announced at 7am. An indication that things are changing rapidly/unexpectedly?

Yes @WF, funny how that didn't put them off? A hugely successful American bio hedge fund who would have done a lot of due diligence...perhaps they know what they are doing and know what aspects actually matter? Just hazarding a guess.

It really would be fascinating to know! But yes must have some sort of price target and specific deadline in mind you'd think, as they clearly know how to invest.

Ruck, whilst that is a remote possibility, I think most of us think/feel that Redmile are invested in Scancell for much much greater returns than a mere £40m... IMO.

Excellent summary again Chester18, I would add that IMO news about Covidity could possibly move faster than even you've suggested, if the government decide it needs fast-tracking. Let's not forget the recruiting that is happening for it.

Also don't forget the potential of a total buyout! Redmile will want the biggest return they can get and they seem to be in and out of their investments relatively quickly. Again IMO.

Doing a random Scancell Google search, and came across this link, think the article is behind a paywall as it on the Lancet?

The weird thing is if you search for it the results come back with:
