Can I ask you to expand on this please, do you mean it's going to take a (long) time still from this point onwards? If so why do you think this is the case? Scancell and Notts Uni have been working on this since April 2020, the manufacturing agreement is in place with Cobra, it's based on existing platform. How much more time do you think it will take?Just interested in your thoughts/reasoning.

Oxford/Biontech were able to get a vaccine out for use in under a year, obviously the big pharma partnering was a big factor but would assume a lot of the ground work/research was done in house(?). Why would a second gen vaccine neccesarily take much longer? Being a second gen has the benefits of learning lessons from the first gen which should speed up things no?

Is nano likely to be the method they go with for SCOV1?
I personally just hope they don't decide to spend ages looking into other delivery methods like inhalation, when as Dalesters says, it just needs to be out there on one form or another. IMO.

...oh and one more thing, just to emphasise Dalesters (critical) point, isn't time of the essence here? Both in terms of having another highly effective vaccine out there and both for the commerical prospects of Scancell? More effective vaccines out there the quicker cancer trials can start etc. All IMO btw.

...just to add, obviously after saftey and efficacy have been tested obviously!
But it feels like classic Scancell to add another (uneccesary?) layer by looking for a novel delivery system? What's wrong with the going down the injection route?

@Raypointer, I'm no expert but could they not get the vaccine out in it's basic injectable form as soon as, whilst in the meantime working on the other, more innovative (and therefore more time-consuming)) methods of delivery?

That article is definitely worth a read.

That kinda makes sense Miavoce then, however it's the "...not joking" bit that's interesting here perhaps?

Good point Miavoce, never heard his name in reference to Scancell before, or noticed if he'd ever tweeted about Scancell before either.

Btw I get the feeling Prof Jonathan Ball never mentions (is alloweded to mention?) Scancell by name? But he has certainly spoke about them, in fact on ITV just recently too I think (someone on ADVFN? i think pointed this out).

P.S. for balance we could be making a mountain out of molehill, but very intriuiging nonetheless.
