For an IT company (if we look at this as part tech) being profitable at this early stage is unusual. I have no idea how much the App costs to develop and market but if it can be done from existing cashflows, that's really good.

I'm from IT background and there is often a lot of upfront spend.

Anyway the strategy is super sound, just got to hope Covid plays ball. It seems to help as well as hinder in the loans market so hopefully a solid Q4 then onwards and upwards next year. If I had more funds I would add now but alas no such luck. GLA

Or not, as the case turned out to be (thank god). Not if like me you want your children and grandchildren to grow up in a world which contains other than sub-saharan climates, and people who don't all hate each other for some reason they just plucked out of the air based on any number of arbitrary physical or other characteristics. Sanity prevails, as they say. Rant over.

But back to the business of Horizonte. Hopefully that's one hurdle out of the way, financiers can wet their quills put pen to paper and the BOD can start firing the RNS'. Nickel looking good, world will soon be awash with investment money looking for a green investment home (and not in the currency about to print multi trillions).

Araguaia will produce ferronickel for the stainless steel industry. Stainless steel is extensively used in:
Cutlery and kitchenware
Chemical, processing and oil & gas industries (ironically!)
Power generation
Food production and storage
Architecture, building and construction
Medical applications
Automotive (car bodies and the like)

Hydrogen may complement EV but it ain't replacing much of the above. I would like my surgical instruments not made of hydrogen please.

And then there's Vermelho.

Anyway I'm bullish because DJ's buying again. I sadly have no funds but will watch from the sidelines and gee the company on to release some news.

Profitable, massive growth in online sales (to over 50% of sales in the last month of the quarter were online!) and back to pre pandemic levels on sales. The strategy is working. What we need to see is how bad second wave Covid is in Russia but I expect this to do very well in 2021. GLA

and if ever any doubt, the seller wasn't and won't be me, until we see those numbers (25/30p/production). If I need to sell earlier for unforeseen circumstances I will post here but in the meantime - 23.5m shares in 'sticky hands'. Roll on finance. GLA

My conclusion is all the other stuff at the moment is noise - US elections, macro, nickel prices today etc. They may impact on when we hear news but shouldn't really affect the negotiations too much.

When I spoke to Simon Retter, in February, in person, he told me the BOD would be disappointed not to get the finance deal done in 2020. Covid was breaking but not yet a big thing in the UK but was happening (China, starting in Italy). Since then of course we have had the reassurance RNS saying things still on track, then the JM interview with Q3/Q4 being mentioned as potential finance dates, as well as the flowchart of the steps involved in financing.

Nothing will happen here (it will ebb and flow with the market forces, traders coming and going, MM moves) until we have concrete news from the company IMO. The shareprice in the meantime is irrelevant to LTH, it may affect entry point for new buyers, and it may determine who exits. But what we're all waiting for is news from the company, and I hope they do release some in 2020, even if the whole finance package can't be completed by the end then, I will be disappointed if nothing concrete gets announced.

Meantime I'm going to shut up, switch off, and not sell a bean. I need 15p to make other life changes, and I will start cashing chips at 25-30p and above. Will keep reading but probably post less until there is something meaningful to talk about. GLA

Since I've been invested Horizonte has never been much hyped (either self hype, or market hype). Maybe there is a time to hype it maybe you want finance in first then open the floodgates on PR? I don't really want hype anyway because companies that achieve valuations on hype alone and no substance are set to fall but I would like a nice solid baseline which values our assets, and hopefully finance deal gives us that.

Lets see I'm not too impatient but a tad fed up with the dayjob and (probably like most others) want a slightly easier life. I finished work at 10.30pm last night and I was led to believe from watching Only Fools that once one's a millionaire it's all Monte Carlo and champagne and all that.... but maybe millionaire in 1980 is a different thing to 2020 etc. Anyway I've got my 2020 equivalent of the Robin Reliant (my 10yr old focus) but it's about as reliable as Delboys motor now, can hardly get it started. Come on Horizonte, need a good end to an otherwise s***e year!

Fair point I guess if we stay sub 15p fully financed we would make a juicy morsel for a larger outfit and probably still nothing priced in for Vermelho? Ok so just need Jeremy to update us on when it is going to be 'done'.

Anyone else find it odd we haven't heard anything about the engineering side (other than the value engineering is going on)? I expected something on this probably around Q1, Mr Rodrigues was appointed last October but AFAIK we haven't had any news on it unless I've missed it? Maybe you can't do much engineering without finance in place or maybe you can't announce progress until finance in place?

Interested in views. I've done some numbers and I can confidently make some life changes if we see 15p next year (and, providing, we don't fallback from that level i.e. it becomes a de facto minimum).

Is it a given? What is it contingent on. Yes finance complete, obviously, less than 2bn shares in issue? Something with Vermelho?

£300mcap feels doable with nickel at a reasonable level above base case, obviously the finance terms are important, I'm assuming maybe worst case scenario nothing happens with Vermelho for the duration of next year.

What do people think. 15p minimum nailed on (at some point next year) or not. Assuming finance completes.

I reckon in my lifetime:
- usd will stop being reserve currency
- USA will stop being worlds largest economy
- electrification of the world will happen
- Horizonte will produce nickel

If correct then during the mine life of Araguaia and Vermelho things will change and perhaps nickel won't be valued in $. But for now it is, so with things like $ v Real remaining significant, for now who is in power and what their policy is in the US probably matters.

Long term EV will happen with or without the USA is my view. Long before that Horizonte will get sold though and we will get our £ (GBP).

All I'm saying is - it won't surprise me if finance complete is next year. But like everyone, I prefer it this year. Complex deal + Covid gives the BOD plenty of headroom for negotiating time. Orion money gives headroom financially. So as investors we shouldn't really be sweating it and we should really be hoping for the best deal in our interests. GLA

AIM if it's aimed at me I say it how I see it. I sold a small pot (nothing to do with Horizonte's prospects) and it looks like my 'punt' (and that's what it was) was a reasonable one. I will continue adding at these levels albeit I won't have much money in the next 3 months.

I don't know if we were ever on for finance complete this year, as others have commented JM's timescales are a bit grey at times at best, and prone to slippage, plus of course it is a complex deal. I'm not hopefuly this year of the full package (but if it happens - great!) but it would be nice to see something announced. I know they can't announce anything when negotiations are ongoing, and I also understand that there is interdependency between the elements of the finance package (i.e. you don't want to announce one piece to then be held over a barrel by the equity parties or so forth) but in the absence of concrete news the SP will drift with market sentiment. Long term of course it's all noise and hopefully we all bought and held our shares for the long term. It's hard to pick short term market movements but if you invest in quality, quality will out, and this is quality. GLA

Online bigger than offline business. That's a very rapid transformation - was expecting it at some point but not this early. With the App due H1 will get very interesting. I need to do some reading on how the second wave is likely to impact Russia before invest more.

Indeed and as good a reason as you might need not to sell a bean. I won't be - the traders can have their fun, the MMs too (and I am sure they'll try to spread the fear) but I'm holding for that one or more RNS'......

No way will it be a 4 week lo kdown thats a given. Govt dont want to break the bad news yet but a couple of months is minimum I expect. How does it affect Horizonte? Hard to tell but this latest development plus the fact we didnt hear anything much by Nov I am pretty sure finance complete will be next year. But hopeful we will still get some news on finance progressing - for example - why would lockdown affect an offtake negotiation for product to be delivered in 3yrs time etc? Anyway hang in there everybody, I certainly wont be trading any dip, possibly adding more in months to come if we stay low, and I wouldnt expect a march type mini crash either and possibly some bounce post US elections. We are just packing up the caravan cant see us being back up in 2020. Gla

Apparently it's all punt money as it's AIM. But taking £0.5m off the table is a nice punt (assuming it was a winner)!
