Would someone explain why SUMM and IRON move together.Actually just happy they are moving in the right direction this time! Happy Christmas and prosperous 2014 to all.

Oversold - results may be slightly worse than originally expected (as stated in latest RNS) but there is scope for a significant increase in the dividend which would be sensible as this is a maturing business. Cash flow is likely to be well over £10m and last years dividend was £2.2m. So a 50% dividend increase would not be reckless and would help cheer up the market

Surely the results (to 29th September) will have been known before the IPO. The key will be any forward indications of earnings, and as this is an income stock, confirmation of dividend rates.

With results due mid December I would be surprised if directors were allowed to trade now.

Also from statement: "Sterling remains committed to add new opportunities to our existing portfolio that will deliver real growth potential and ultimately value for our shareholders." - a sentence they cut and paste from the previous goodness knows how many announcements! Sorry may miss it, but gave up on Sterling a few months ago.

At last some movement before the AGM

Lot of activity at the end of the week and price moving steadily, if unspectacularly, north. Wonder if something brewing?

Revenues have more than doubled compared with the same period last year at £11.1m (H1 2012: £5.3m), with EBITDA for the period at £3.3m (H1 2012: £2.1m). Group adjusted profit before tax has increased to £1.4m (H1 2012: £1.0m) giving an adjusted earnings per share of 1.43 pence (H1 2012: 1.06 pence). Both the acquisition of the Maltby CMM assets and the associated fundraising exceeded expectations. The placing was well supported by existing and new institutional investors and the acquired assets are performing ahead of plan. Gearing has reduced to 27% (H1 2012: 46%).

Well yes, but there are only 2 operational deep coal mines left - the other ones are open cast which doesn't help Alkane.

Agree. If there was a problem he wouldn't be staying until October to hand over.

Three new contracts since the year end with revenue of £3.5m in this year and significant future revenue expected after that. Compared to last years t/o of £6.7m and with gross margins last year of 99%+ surely this year should be massive.

Alkane Energy plc (AIM: ALK), the independent gas to power producer, today announces that it has acquired from GP Energy Limited ("GP") a part licence interest in United Kingdom Onshore Licence AL010 for coal mine methane ("CMM") exploitation, and has bought-out a royalty owned by GP which related to revenue from the Group's 3MW CMM site at Florence, Staffordshire (together the "Acquisition"). The consideration for the Acquisition is, in aggregate, £425,000, payable in cash. The transfer of the part licence interest is subject to the approval of the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change. The part licence covers 21km2 of mine workings in the Stoke-on-Trent area and adds to the Group's existing part licence interest in AL010.

Alkane are only getting £53/MWh for their CMM power though considerably more for their standby capacity (when it is used). WIND do seem to have a lot of debt and accrued losses - though somehow still a manage to pay a reasonable dividend.
